Great price and arrived in excellent condition. However, quite dated presentation, which is no surprise for such an old book (1970s). Current modellers would do better buying something with colour photos.

Good book. but quite dated, nowadays. Gives some good ideas on figure modelling and is still worth having.

HASH(0x90857ab0) out of 5 stars Decent figure modelling book 26 July 2013

This out-of-print book deserves a review. 2nd hand copies are available on various sites and perhaps a new generation of modellers should be exposed to these older books.

Airfix was a prolific model manufacturer and produced a line of ubiquitous plastic figures. This book focuses on using Airfix polystyrene figures as a basis to start a model soldier collection. The reader is led through simple projects such as improving one's modelling skills through to doing simple conversions and ending up with fairly complex conversions. The illustrations are all in b&w photos which show various stages of work progress.

It exposes modellers to do more with commercial figures rather than merely painting figures. Highly recommended.

Nice little book on the subject and I can use when I am modeling on my figures. Not bad for a book
