Does the meaning of words matter anymore? We are a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY yet the latter is parroted by persons throughout our country as though it were true. Even those who certainly know better - our elected officials, on all sides of the political spectrum - frequently refer to America as a "Democracy."
This book is packed with information that you will not read about from mainstream sources. If you want to understand what has gone wrong with our country, and why, read this book. The difference between "Republic" and "Democracy" is ultimately the difference between "Liberty" and "Subjugation" (or worse) and this book explores how and why this inaccurate substitution of words has happened. Hint: It's intentional.
"A lie told often enough, becomes the truth." -Vladimir Lenin
Dr. Jacobs calls out the people protesting Walker in Madison, who took over and desecrated the Capitol, shouting 'this is what a democracy looks like'. A mob is exactly what democracy looks like! Our founders specifically warned about a democracy versus a republic, and referred to democracy as 'mobocracy'. Dr. Jacobs teaches the politically incorrect version of history - the version that every American should know, no longer taught in our public schools for decades.
One tragedy taking place in our public schools is kids never learn the real history of the US, or of the words of our Founding Fathers; the genius of our unique form of government, or where our freedoms come from. Jacobs covers these subjects and more in the book. People need to know the reasons why they should be proud of their country. If you want to know what makes America great, what makes her exceptional, in the correct historical context, Mobocracy is a great book that everyone should have on their kindle or sitting on a shelf in their library for reference.
This book also sounds the alarm on what is happening in our country today on a number of fronts. It's a must-read.
Dr. Jacobs speaks from his years of teaching and researching American History at the High School and College level, but also from his personal experiences. He has made several pilgrimages to Madison, Wisconsin to mingle with the protesters at "ground zero" and see, first hand, the influences at the root of this movement. Jacobs is bulwark for the causes he believes in, and took great personal and professional risk to openly support Scott Walker in public media.
Mobocracy is a term used by the Founders to describe the destructive herd mentality of pure democracy, versus the rule of law characterizing a constitutional republic. Enjoy reading this new tome about the trends ailing this nation, by a man who could well be considered a John Knox of our times.
