Thus, while the book has plenty to say (and thankfully keeps it all under the saner limits of 120 pages, instead of pounding on and on) and says it well, at the end, one gets a bit tired with all the supporting statistics that, ultimately, just underline what more or less everyone in the readership of this book should know, about how the mobile landscape is changing, the challenges, the experiences, and on and on.
However, for those of us whose main line of work might not be designing front-end UIs, who are not designers, but who need to keep a well-rounded profile (as any software architect should) this book falls short of leading the reader through some of the techniques, tips and tricks, etc. If this is what you need, just forget about this one and proceed to buy Ethan Marcotte's Responsive Web Design (make sure to get it in English, tho'), where things are well covered on the pragmatic side. Even if that book is not exactly about mobile first, it manages to cover it too and give useful advice.
A client explicitly asked me to read this book before a review meeting later this week, looks like that's not going to happen now!
My advice: if you buy it for mistake, put it to sell instead of returning to amazon, since you will have to pay the returning package.
I will NEVER BUY AMAZON another book!
