The Mizuno Wave Inspire 10 Running Shoe delivers mile after mile of light, cushioned, stable fun. The Mizuno U4iC Wave midsole has been designed to be unlike other shoe technologies. When your foot touches the ground, Wave reduces and redirects impact forces away from the foot. Acting a lot like your car's suspension, it cushions and keeps your foot centred in the shoe throughout your stride. Mizuno are gearing different shoes to fit the unique stride of different runners, through the development of multiple wave shapes. So if its a local jog or running past the 20 mile marker, Wave will always feel amazing underfoot. Working together with Dynamotion Fit, the materials and design of the shoe works with your foot as it twists, bends and stretches allowing the shoe upper to move with you. Flex eyelets help keep your heel secure throughout your stride by allowing the upper to stretch and contract as required. Dynamotion Fit incorporates Flex mesh which helps to eliminate the bunching and pulling that can cause blistering. The Inspire 10 also features Mizuno Intercool, a full-length ventilation system in the sole of the shoe that removes heat and humidity away from the foot, ensuring a cool, dry and comfortable ride. The Wave Inspire 10 is constructed with an AIRmesh upper to maintain a high standard of breathability, allowing the foot to stay cool. took a while to break in though a good choice at any price.
Really supportive, comfortable and durable. When it came to replacing them I thought it best to stick to what I knew and by the same range but a newer model.
It turned out to be a bad idea. they've completely stripped back the support, and cushioning, leaving far too much space in the heel/mid foot area that means you can't get the right fit. Also the tongue is too short and offers no cushioning against the laces,. when you pull it up to provide support, a large plastic strip at the end of the tongue (at the bottom of the laces) bunches up and actually digs into your foot when running - awful design mistake.
The overall feel of the trainer is one focussed completely on lightness but this massively compromises the comfort and support to pronating runners - which is the whole purpose of the Wave Inspire Series!
I'm really disappointed as the process of getting these has put me off buying trainers online which is a shame as the seller was very good.
As they're a big expense I'd advise going to a professional running shop to get fitted correctly and get the option of trying different models.
Initially on putting on the mizuno I was impressed. Stiff heel, wide forefoot and felt very comfortable. Walking around the house they felt very comfortable. I took them for a short run on a treadmill to ensure they were ok before subjecting them to the road and they felt fine.
I then aimed for a 10k slow run to break them in and the problems started there. The heel is stiff but the midsection of the shoe collapses away so it feels like your running in plimsoles. You end up rubbing hard across the medial side of your foot. Adjusting the tightness of the laces failed to improve comfort. I walked home after 4k with medial knee pain - first time I'd had it in about 8 years.
I'm sure they will work for some but I find the midshoe design incredibly poor and will be staying away from mizuno in future.
I'd advise if you need decent arch support to look elsewhere
I bought a pair of Wave Inspire 9's about a year ago and got a solid 600+ miles worth of road usage out of them without any damage whatsoever. I went out for my first road run in these today and they are no-where near as comfortable as the 9's nor do they look anywhere near as nice.
They are still a very good pair of shoes but I'm a little disappointed in Mizuno and this is likely to be my last pair.

Very light shoes with a distinct look, comfortable and fitted exactly as expected. Small concerns about the longevity of the mesh netting around the toe but we'll have to wait and... Read morePublished 19 months ago by Jack Gallagher
