I stopped reading this when I reached 15% as I realised it wasn't going to improve. I found the narrative style was stilted, full of inconsistencies and oddities such as the policemen stating they needed to speak to the family urgently and then making an arrangement to call back more than 24 hours later, the daughter 'not used to lying' even though she was in a secret relationship with a married man, the police using the word 'homicide' (American for 'murder') and the daughter getting 'dolled up'.
I am amazed that this is the first of a trilogy, and will not be buying any more books by this author.

Very enjoyable book but I wasn't really able to relate to Susie, probably because we are so totally different.
Also, I found the style of writing a bit strange at times, for example, something important happens, but you don't find out what it is for one or two chapters - I found this rather frustrating.
I enjoyed the story but not really enough to buy the next two in the series. But this is just my own personal opinion, and I am sure there will be lots of people who will want to read the trilogy in one bite.

This was a Amazon Kindle book, which I enjoyed. At 99p a reasonable read.
Unfortunately, the second part is £3.99 which I think is too much for an e-book,
so I probably won't find out what happens !!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Antonia's first novel. I love reading, but never have the time. However from the moment I picked up Mixed Emotions, I made the time because I couldn't put it down! It was such a great read and I loved the fact that you could relate to the characters so well. The story line was gripping and I can't wait for the other 2 books!

I found myself caught up in Susie's ever increasing mess that she kept getting herself into. Can't wait for the next one in the series as I want to know what happens!
