Missing in Action is my personal best Chuck Norris film. for some reason I like films about POW'S being rescued and you could say this film is much like 'RAMBO 3' But what I love about this film was the action and fight scenes you do get your moneys worth.

Now the Blu-ray is very good it gets a 4/5 but you do get the odd grainy scene. But sadly you don't get any bonus features which is a bit annoying. But still this is worth buying and extending your Chuck Norris Blu-ray collection.

One of the seemingly endless stream of `80s and `90s cheap action flicks starring the almost ubiquitous high kicking action hero Chuck Norris, this is a strong but not the best entry into his oeuvre.

Colonel Braddock is an ex prisoner of war, held by the Vietnamese long after the conflict ended. He knows there are more service men still held, officially listed as missing in action. He makes it his mission to return and rescue them.

It's a solid premise, and sets the scene for a decent action flick with the usual big stunts, explosions, fights and quips as Norris singlehandedly invades Vietnam, and this time the American wins the war he starts in Asia.

The first half of the film is a bit slow, punctuated by confusing flashbacks that try to set the scene, but fail utterly to do anything other than muddy the narrative. Things pick up when Norris sets out in Hanoi to get the information he needs in a tense and well paced episode, and the story really picks up when he sets out on his mission.

A decent brain at door beer and pizza film, delivering the right amount of action and humour without to much brain engagement needed. 4 stars.

I first saw this film way, way back in the 80s, when I was barely old enough to watch it legally. There's just something about a Chuck Norris film on video when you're a teenager - the man can't act, the plot's terrible, the action sequences contrived, and oh god that beard... but I loved it all the same. It's cheesy action nonsense at its very best - and by the way, Norris could take Seagal any time.

Missing in Action is one of them movies that will never be forgoten and always will be a favourie. Legendary Chuck Norris as always a real pro on what he does. Blu Ray quality for age of the movie is acceptable. Most improvements are in the sound apart from the picture. Fan of Chuck Norris or not this a must have blu ray.

James Braddock still believes that American soldiers are still been held captive in Vietnam. A government investigation team ask Braddock to go with them to Ho Chi Minh City to check out reports of US soldiers still held prisoner. When he finds all the evidence he needs he teams up with Tuck a old war buddy to free the remaining soldiers.

Made in 1984 this was heavily influenced by Sylvester Stallone's Rambo: First Blood Part 2. Where a ex Vietnam vet goes back into Vietnam to help save captured GI's. Although it was heavily criticized by the critics this was a massive box office success bringing in $22,812,411 compared to it's budget of $1.5 million.

In the lead we have popular action hero Chuck Norris. This must have been quite a personal project for him especially as his elder brother was killed in the same war. Here he plays a very revenge driven Braddock who it is clear hates the people he is fighting against.

The man behind the camera was low budget director Joesph Zito who made action movies such as Red Scorpion (with Dolph Lundgren) and Invasion USA (also starring Chuck Norris). The action scenes here are the highlight with large scale skirmishes and plenty of explosions. The opening battle features a bunch of GI's attempting to escape on helicopters with the Viennese picking them off. A very good opening scene. We also get various flashbacks throughout the film showing Braddocks experiences during the war which are well handled scenes.

Other action scenes include, car chases and at the end we have a armoured patrol boat attempting to take out Chuck as he saves the GI's. Overall there is a large body count and Braddock even buys himself the Rambo gun.
