Elliot s first book illuminated Afghanistan and the Afghans, relatively unknown to us, before we heard about them on the news. In a series of off-the-beaten-track journeys in Iran, Elliot, a Farsi speaker, does the same for Iran... a welcome insight into the workings of a misunderstood nation. --Daily Mail

His erudition, explorations, investigations and surprising findings plus the conjecture on muqarnas kept this armchair traveller fully occupied and left me better educated. Most of all, his affection for ordinary Iranians and their widely varied country will bring me back to this again and again. A keeper.
It is obvious that Jason knows it well. The rich stories are profound
I highly recommend it to anybody wants to discover the country without being there/ but during the reading it will gives the opportunity to plan a trip in the future and walking on the path of the author right there in Iran.
Jason Elliot has described Iran with passion. thanks in deed.
