    Obviously, there is are some compromises due to cost. Some parts are plastic and that may shorten its life span. I’ve been able to set it up (centre it) easily with the help of Vernier callipers. This is not needed if you just need to true a wheel but it is essential if you are going to "dish" a wheel.The truing arms (the bit that touches the rim) can be set as metal or plastic. The plastic option (default) is for carbon rims – so the instructions say.The instructions are great with no obvious translation issues. These come with the stand but can also be download from the minoura site.Thru axles need an adapter but no issues with 9mm QRs. The legs that hold the wheel open in sync, helping to keep the centre point, and can be extended to over 200mm. The callipers open to 60mm.The base is heavy enough and there is a metal leg that can be screwed (or in my case) clamped to a bench for extra stability.Highly recommended at the discounted amazon price.

      I’ve now used this to build up 3 pairs of wheels. It’s pretty good. You can get it very close before it needs checking with a dishing tool and then finish off by pulling one of the arms out of the way.
      My only concern is that it’s a little bit wobbly so when spinning the wheel, you need to be gentle with it, or holding the hub to spin it work quite well.
      I think you’d need to spend a lot more to get a more solid stand, but at the end of the day, the wheels wouldn’t be any truer.
      Highly recommended.

      I have used this stand to build and true wheels without issue. It's solidly constructed and fit for purpose. Some would argue that it's not as good as the professional item but then again it's price point is substantially less then these items. The main thing is whether it is possible to do what it is designed to do. The wheels on my bike are testament to this fact. Therefore it's fit for purpose. Also It folds flat, which is very useful for storage. All in all I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend same.

      Annoyingly the red jaws you can see in the picture aren't precisely lined up and are off-centre. So you can't eye things up properly and have to use one side at a time. It would have been quite straightforward to build in a little user adjustment if they knew the manufacturing tolerances weren't up to scratch.

      The little swing arm at the front allows you to screw it onto a surface. It would be better if they added other screw points as I found it didn't stop it moving around.

      Overall it's a very easy to use piece of kit and is plenty adequate for building wheels.

      I didn't use this a lot and then the plastic gauge arm clip snapped, meaning one of the arms can not be held in place. Considering the price it's pretty poor and I would not recommend buying it. I could not find any spares to replace the broken part.
