Good toy for a 3 + year old. Fairly robust and will operate on a carpet as well as a smooth floor.
Recommend recharged type batteries to be fitted, as no batteries come with the toy.
It will last for about 4 days of continuous play with the re-charged batteries fitted, before a fresh set of batteries required.
Excellent toy, can highly recommend it.
disappointed. It's robust and our door frames are surviving. He has no problems controlling it with the mini steering wheel (he has struggled with the older boys remote controllers). So an excellent 'first' remote control car for a young 'petrol head'and at a good price too.
Largely that's because of the difficult steering controls, which make moving it around rather counter-intuitive, that she finds very off-putting. I practised with it for quite a while before I got the hang of how to get it to go where you want it to go, but a child with a short attention span might not get that far. The counter-wheel underneath the car is a very clever idea, but it doesn't lend itself to the simplicity that the rest of the toy is about. If there had just been a "turn left" button and a "turn right" button on the remote, that would've been a lot easier.
It's a shame about the steering, as otherwise it's really rather good. With clear switch-on-and-offable LED lights, a solid plastic car that will withstand bumping into furniture, pretty good battery life, and a sound effect button to boot, this car would be a sure-fire winner if it wasn't just so difficult to steer.
Because the car only has one central motorised wheel, it seems to get stuck a lot of the time. This means you have to go and rescue it quite often, and that again remove some of the fun aspect from it for a child
It's cheap, so you get what you pay for!
