Four survival-themed Guides in one box set!
About the Author
Mojang is a games studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. Mojang was founded in 2009 by Markus “Notch” Persson and Jakob Porser. Markus Persson is also the creator of Mojang’s best-selling game to date: Minecraft. The alpha version of Minecraft was launched in 2009, and the official game went on sale in 2011. Since then over 100 million copies have been sold, across multiple platforms. It is now the second best-selling video game of all time. In 2014, Mojang was bought by Microsoft. The acquisition hasn’t changed much about the company – they still release and support games on multiple platforms, including iOS, Playstation and many more, as well as Windows and Xbox. Mojang plan to keep their independent spirit and continue to treat their community with the respect and honesty it deserves.

This set is has a hard outer case which holds 4 books,
You receive a guide to
Enchantments & potions
The Nether & The end
Each guide has great graphics and details, any Minecraft Fan will love them
It’s a collection of four books previously published separately, and each book has a variety of crafting suggestions, things you didn’t know were possible, as well as some very ambitious-looking projects that are properly inspiring in terms of wanting to spend more and more time exploring the game (for better or worse!). The exploration and farming books are the ones that got the most attention in our household at first, which is quite gratifying. The End & The Nether are still regarded as ‘too scary’ but I don’t think it’ll be too long before the Enchantments & Potions book turns our daughter into a budding chemist, or more accurately alchemist depending on how you look at it...
The fact she’s so keen on the game even serves as an incentive for her to practice her reading as well, because she will happily grab one of these and make herself read it, even some of the longer words she would normally struggle with, because she’s so engaged with it. So as an almost accidental bonus, I’d even call it educational!
The print quality is good and the illustrations are all nice and clear, high quality design that’s up there with Lego and other companies that get their print design right. In its special box, it’s well presented as a potential Christmas gift as well.
If I had just one gripe, it would be that for what you get, the current asking price of over twenty quid is a little steep in terms of total-cost-per-page. A single volume containing all the same information would have been priced more cheaply for sure. And this is the kind of pack that does tend to show up in certain high street discount book stores a year or two down the line, and it will probably represent better value then! But apart from a (fairly mild) gripe about the cost, this is an absolutely great set for Minecraft fans, especially young ones and newbies, so it’s 5 stars nonetheless.
A nice gift set if you don't already own most of these books.
If you have a few minecraft books i would check before you get this set as i have noticed the same books or content appearing repeatedly in different formats.
This set would be perfect for a beginner at minecraft. It contains lots of helpful advice about farming, exploration, potions and enchantments plus information about exploring the Nether and the End.
The set is a nice looking set and comes in a sturdy slip case. The advice is presented clearly with plenty of pictures and a minimum of unecessary jargon. The only thing i would say that is missing is an index at the end of each book!
This is a set of four paperback guides, all of which have been published separately in hardback before, so check bookcases before ordering. All of the books provide helpful information, Exploration and Farming being of most use to novices and Enchantments & Potions plus The Nether & The End for those that have been playing longer.
The paperback collection will suit the majority of players, mostly those that are newer to the game but with sufficient content in each book that even the more experienced players should find something they didn’t know or fully understand, particularly as the game ever evolves.
