Product Description

About the Author

Heather Sunseri was raised on a tiny farm in one of the smallest towns in thoroughbred horse country near Lexington, Kentucky. After high school, she attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and later graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting. Always torn between a passion for fantasy and a mind for the rational, it only made sense to combine her career in accounting with a novel-writing dream. Heather now lives in a different small town on the other side of Lexington with her two children, and her husband, Mike, the biggest Oregon Duck fan in the universe. When she’s not writing or working as a CPA, she spends her time tormenting her daughter’s cat, Olivia, and loving on her son’s Golden Retriever, Jenny. MINDSPEAK is her first published novel.

I bought this book because I was intrigued by the premise. However, while the plot hung together pretty well and kept me engaged, the writing needed some attention. A good editor would have picked up on the overuse of gestures such as running hands through hair, which made me roll my eyes once I'd reached the halfway point of the book. I kept going because I wanted to find out what happened but almost put the book down the further I read. There were also some clumsy references to religion that didn't sit well with me.

I gave this one star because it is a cliffhanger. I resent being forced to buy the next book to find out what happens to the main characters. This is a fantastic book and I would have read more by this author, who could have easily made this into a series of books covering the stories of the other clones. I like my books to have a beginning, a middle and an end. I don't like being left with a cheated feeling at the end. Although I would like to find out what happened to Lexi and Jack I won't be buying the next book in order to find out and I won't be buying any other books by this author who should not need to finish on a cliffhanger to get people to buy her books. Good writing, which this was, does not require this ploy.

I liked this story very much. Not my usual read but I found the characters to be well drawn and interesting. The pace was right for me and I liked the relationship issues between the characters.
I will definitely need to read the next book in the series.

Lexi knows she is different but is in denial, until she meets Jack and finds out he’s different too. She is at boarding school, then her father goes missing. She received threatening emails and now doesn’t have a clue who to trust. Can she trust Jack ?
I absolutely loved this book, this book is now top of my list to recommend to everyone. I loved the characters, the plot, suspense, romance … this book has it all.

An unusual concept and one that I hadn't come across before in this particular format. It was a little slow at first but really built up. I enjoyed reading this book and wanted to see what became of the characters at the end of the story. As soon as I finished reading this book, I bought the second one.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mindspeak and couldn't put it down till I had finished it. It had great, likeable characters and a very original story. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a thriller/YA/mystery/fantasy book/dystopian book. A strong 5 stars

Young adult fiction should not mean a childish writing style. Badly plotted, gushing characterisation, and it drops religion into the story like an anvil around 3/4 of the way through. The cliffhanger at the end is a blatant attempt to force a purchase of the sequel Mindsiege, which the reader (my daughter) has resisted. Worth exactly what we paid for it (free).

An outstanding book! It is food for the mind that makes it grown and work as you read along. Just when you think you have the story figured out ... wham your hit with a new twist. I can say this as this is not my normal reading material. I like fluffy quick reads. This made you think and was a great change of pace!

It has a little bit of sexual tension with a whole lot of mystery thrown in, which kept me on the edge of my seat so I just could not put this book down no matter how much I had something else to do! I am only sorry it is not a stand alone book you will have to buy the full set to get the whole story!
