Kat has a lot of problems she suffers major panic attacks due to a situation from her past which she hasn't fully recovered from. I loved her straight away.
Ryker is a player he's happy to work in his brother's bar whilst he's studying. It's the perfect place for his man whore ways.
A different girl whenever he feels like it with no strings attached.
That is until he sets eyes on Kat and everything changes for him. Ryker fights his feelings for Kat. He knows she's not one of his one night only girls. Which is a shame because that's all he can offer.
After keeping his distance for so long he finally snaps and needs to decide if he can offer more than just one night to this beautiful girl.
That thought alone scares the crap out of him, but so does the thought of anyone else getting his girl.
I loved this story all the will they won't they sexual tension was hot as hell. I wanted to scream at the two of them.
A great story and I'm looking forward to reading book 2.
Debut novel from author Gillian Jones and I have to say I was quite impressed. It wasn’t without its faults for sure but it’s definitely worth a read and I have no problem reading more from this author. Gillian gives us Ryker and Kat, two strong characters who struggle with their attraction to one another. They try to stay out of each other’s way but honestly, you can see it’s a losing battle. The attraction between them is off the charts.
At first I really struggled to get into this, I felt the first 15 percent or so was long winded and slow, it felt like filler to pad out the story and I found it harboured a lot of unnecessary information. I worried that I wouldn’t get past that initial feeling and hoped it would pick up its pace. Well, it did and quite wonderfully. At that 15 percent mark we get Rykers pov and if you didn’t already know, this is how I like to read my books. Dual pov, I like to be in the head of both characters. I wasn’t sure if I could cope with just being in Kats.
Both characters have been burned in the past and are reluctant to take that plunge, and they try to stay out of each other’s way. I liked Ryker more than I did Kat but boy did that guy frustrate me no end. It felt like a bit of a cat and mouse game at times, and that growl. Damn, that was quite hot! What I did really, really like was the slow build up that Gillian managed to encapsulate well. It’s a kind of insta love story but then again it isn’t. It’s hard to explain. It’s hot and steamy in places yet other times it’s so sickly sweet it could be quite churning.
I was not a fan of the title or the cover in all truthfulness, I don’t think either captured the story so well but I did enjoy the flair with which Gillian writes. I’m looking forward to this authors next offering, congratulations on a really great debut.
Kat is ur typical good she just wants to get good grades in college and concentrate on getting her dream job and have fun with her friends she doesn't have time or want to get involved with a man .but while she's still in college she gets a part time job working in a club what she doesn't expect is to meet a man who she is drawn to especially an out and out player. As time progresses it becomes obvious that there is something between the two but neither are willing to be forthcoming with each about how they are feeling. But the more they get to know each other the more it gets harder to deny what they both want.
Can Ryker convince Kat that he has given up his player ways?
Is Kat really willing to take a chance and see what happens between her and Ryker?
This book was such a breath of fresh air and I loved every minute of it. I honestly can't wait to see what Gillian gives us next .this book is must read and a Brilliant Debut novel from Gillian Jones
I quite simply fell head first into a story that was so easy to love, as was the inimitable Ryker and his spine tingling growl – honest I heard him reverberating around in my head for days! The boy, certainly left and impression!!
The story is about Kat and Ryker – and it is far cry for what I would have considered within its genre and that is commendable.
I enjoyed the whole plot, it was captivating and funny- really funny but more than that it contained a wealth of characters that we gloriously handsome and could turn the charm on like most people can flip on a switch.
The story was a fairly light read, not heavy on the angst and agro but that is not to its detriment because the characters are so endearing that I was swept along with the goings on. They were a bunch of college kids that lived life to the full and I enjoyed every minute of it.
There are a few steamy encounters and the damn Ryker’s filthy mouth sent a tingle right down my spine … the man has such a way with words that he damn well left me breathless!!
But the remaining characters in the book are not shy either, they are each integral to what I can only say is a book and an author that I have every intension of revisiting again- soon!
