I must admit to really liking this book. It has enough mystery and excitement to keep most people reading. A very different take on life after death and one that is both interesting and provocative.
This is definitely a new twist for Asher and one that personally I like, having read most of his earlier work. Well worth the read.

It's very much as it is described i.e. an early unpolished work. It's a slight story with several themes that Asher has used and expanded on in his later work. It's unusual to get an insight into the early days of an author's work so it Interesting to see the genesis of his ideas and writing style.

Neal Asher has to be the best writer of sci fi in Britain today. It is so refreshing to have an English rather than an American perspective. Good research, fascinating story and characters you can believe in.

Neal Asher is one of the few SF authors that I rate. This was short but an enjoyable read as always.

This was an outstanding read. Easy to read, didn't bother with unnecessary detail and left no loose ends. I felt the end needed more work.
Good read for younger adults or long distance travellers
