I received this book as a review copy for free, in return for an honest review.
Michael is back and now working for the government, along with several other perceiver teenagers. He has a long way to go until he can find his place, as a perceiver, in the adult world, but his hard work may just pay off. Michael is teamed up with the police force, perceiving criminals for intent, and he soon stumbles upon an anomaly that only he can perceive.
He uses his innate bravery and the close group of friends he has accumulated to track and perceive a group of terrorists. He doesn’t stop, even when his life is threatened by a boy with skills that are beyond even the most powerful perceivers.
This book is action packed and isn’t hindered by the usual teen angst. Michael is a character who tries to do the right thing, even if that means going against authorities, and his strength brings a realistic and vibrant essence to his character.
As with the first book in the series, this is not just for teenagers. I thoroughly enjoyed the pace and storyline, and found it well-written and compelling. I can’t wait for the third book to come out.

The second book in this series kept me on the edge of my seat. As Michael learns to live under Perceivers' Law, he makes new friends and learns that not all perceivers are born equal. Getting to grips with working with norms in the police force, he gets caught up in murder, kidnapping and espionage, whilst simultaneously trying to deal with the fall-out from his past and his missing memories. The tension ratchets up the situation spirals out of control. I couldn't put it down.

A good, action-packed story, which sees Michael working with the police...yet finds that his powers may not be enough.

It's not easy to say much without giving spoilers, but will say that this book has reasonable characters and plot and overall, an interesting tale.

Worth a look.
