Six stories does seem very short to me. However, the stories themselves are utterly charming and completely timeless. Probably the most 'wintery' - Christmassy at least - is when Milly-Molly-Mandy and her friends, Billy Blunt and Little Friend Susan, go carol singing. However, the stories are all set during the cold and chilly months of winter, when Milly-Molly-Mandy enjoys learning to knit, helps her family and friends and goes on a visit. These are also absolutely lovely stories to read aloud; cosy and heartwarming for the winter evenings. Milly-Molly-Mandy was always a favourite of mine as a child and I am happy that my daughter also loves her - let's hope the books always remain in print, to be enjoyed by future generations.
