Millions was everything I knew I wanted from their final instalment but also a million other things I wasn’t even aware I needed. Angst oozes from this book, thick & cloying from start to finish, but gawd I loved every last inch of it. Talk about stealing the very air i need to breathe. Then there’s the rest. ~ love, passion, loyalty, truth, acceptance, fear, death, longing & dreams.. So many emotions, so much depth, so many moments that will forever cement this couple & their story deep into my soul.
For me, Pepper has taken Pim & Elder to hell & back before leading them into to the light. The intensity that she has woven into the very fabric of their souls coupled with the way in which she forced me to see the good, bad & the damn right ugly within their worlds, was nothing short of brilliance.
From Pennies to Millions, dark to light, ugly to beautiful I have loved it all. Thank you for journey Pepper, it’s one I’ll never forget
Pennies was a harrowing story. Initially, I wasn't sure I could get through it. But like any Pepper Winters book, I had to see where it took me, how it would end and the fall out from what Pim had suffered, which brings us to Millions.
I could not believe what happened at the end of Thousands.
How someone could find out that Pim had been found and where she was, yet not find out she had already been rescued. For Elder to be left in such a situation where we didn't even know if he'd survived. I was seriously frustrated.
Millions continues flawlessly from where we left off, bringing back faces we've been thinking about from her other series, with characters we've been wanting to catch up with from the past, and oh my, is it satisfying.
Tying everything up, we go through a mixture of chaos and violence, following Pim and Elder on their final journey against all odds to find love and happiness. Will they get it? You'll have to read to find out but my god, it's worth every ounce of terror and gut wrenching suspense to get there.
If you've read the other books in this series, I know there's no way you won't be reading Millions. A very satisfying end to a fantastic series.
Beautifully written, heartbreaking, tragic, painful, emotional roller-coaster. I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down.
Pepper is a jedi when it comes to writing characters with a soul, it's relatable, believable and gut wrenching. Two broken people who save each other from the darkness.
If I could describe this series in one word it would be perfection.
Waiting allowed me to dive head-first into this incredible world again and enjoy it fully because I’d had a breather - I find all of Pepper’s stories become an addiction for me and where I can happily sit and read the entire series in a few days like I did with Indebted, I finish them all too quickly and am left thinking, what on earth do I do now?
Jumping back into Elder and Pim’s story was wonderful, the depth to these characters is fantastic and as always, there wasn’t a dull moment in this book.
We see both of the characters develop and grow as the book goes on, we see them change in such positive, healing ways and for me, their ending was perfect for them. More than perfect actually.
I adored getting glimpses of two of my favourite Pepper characters in this book, and it’s made me want to reread the first book that made me fall in love with Pepper in the first place.
Very few authors I find can deliver time and time again, but Pepper just has the most extraordinary talent for creating complex worlds you don’t want to leave and weaving so many threads you can’t help but be awed by the thought and time that has gone into her stories - I love a story that is neatly tied up at the end, I know some people hate it, but I love it.
Once again, Pepper has created a book worthy or more than five stars in my opinion and I can’t wait to see what she creates next.
Book 1 pennies
Book 2 dollars
Book 3 hundreds
Book 4 thousands
