Once again Paul Henke has created a master tale, with a pleasant mixture of love and war. Once I started the book, I was very reluctant to put it down again, and eagerly await the third part in this thrilling saga.
Why 4 stars instead of 5? The book perhaps goes a little too much into politics, rather than the fast raw adventure of the first book. Also check out the author's web site for more info.
From the first chapter I was gripped and literally unable to put it down, reading all through the night. The book is not, in places, well written and sometimes the characters are not fully created but the story is compelling and the sense of time and place very real. The story twists beautifully from start to finish and like me you should be persuaded to read this book.

This book is compelling and offers a family's insight into the events occuring during a dramatic time in the history of the world, while at the same time keeping it personal to a particular group of family and friends. I highly suggest reading it and passing it to your friends and family!
