This is SUCH a useful book. I direct several choirs and teach singing and I nearly always use this book. It's full of great tips and the singers always benefit from some of the crazy things Mike asks you to do! Moreover it is very technical and I feel that I have always learnt something valuable from each short session. And at such a small price,it's a bargain!

This is a good book for singers. There are many and varied useful warming up techniques to suit all types of singing. The information follows a progressive format throughout the book which is suited to beginner and more experienced alike.

As a singing teacher, I found this book a good way of developing my pupils' technique in a fun and manageable way. It has improved their confidence too, and although they find some of the exercises a little out if their comfort zone, they really enjoy the sessions as a whole.

Fortunately I have misplaced this as when I heard how Brewer sexually abused vulnerable girls he taught at Cheltenham I could no longer use this book. He was jailed in 2013 for 21 months. Does he get royalties for this publication?

Although this book is designed for teaching choirs, I sometimes struggle with ideas on teaching how to find/use your diaphragm when teaching woodwind instruments - in wider opportunities lessons especially, when warming a class up and helping children find their diaphragms for learning how to play the flute for example. Vocal exercises are fun and would suit children and adults alike.
And what a great price!!!

I used to find this book quite useful but ever since Mike Brewer was jailed for having indecent relationships with young vulnerable students, I couldn't even bring myself to look at it, let alone use it again. I tore it up and threw it away.

I regret ever buying this book and look forward to using my copy to light my fires over the winter period.
