Review

'Another job well done.'--Publishers Weekly, starred review
'Sure to be a hit.'-Kirkus Reviews
'A rumbustious treat.' --The Wall Street Journal

'People will be revving their engines to get their hands on this sequel.' --Booklist

'Anyone who loves Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site will love its sequel, Mighty, Mighty Construction Site.' Kid Lit Reviews

'The illustrations are just gorgeous and very clever in how they create the faces for each of the vehicles. There is a really charming quality to the imagery used and it is perfect for follow on activities with the children, who have dug out the various diggers and truck we have to recreate the story. They set up two teams of vehicles, the original ones and the new team that come to assist with the job at hand. All in all perfect for any child who is fascinated with trucks and diggers!' --Let Them Be Small

A lovely rhyming book, colourful pictures, already a favourite story at bedtime. Would delight any child who has an interest in heavy vehicles.

Great daytime companion to Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site. The last two pages see the mighty vehicles going back to sleep after a hard days work, so you could almost do without both volumes, but my son cant get enough so this is well worth it.

Goodnight construction site was already a firm favourite with my three year old grandson. He loves this one just as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lady trucks, hurray! 27 Mar. 2017
By Anjela Bugher - Published on Amazon.com

SO GOOD. My only complaint about the first was that it didn't include any lady trucks. (Yes, this is a big deal for me!) Though this one doesn't even out the ratio, it does include two trucks positively identified as girls, including Skidsteer, which is my favorite truck (look, when you have a two-year-old who is obsessed with anything that has wheels, you develop favorite trucks!). I'm thrilled with the message that sometimes you need help to complete a big task, and that getting help can be fun -- an important lesson that I myself had trouble with as a kid. Very happy with this sequel!

4.0 out of 5 stars this one is better than most 14 Mar. 2017
By NKF - Published on Amazon.com

As far as follow-ups to a masterpiece go, this one is better than most. (Think: the dreadful sequel to Little Blue Truck when it goes to the city--suddenly there are humans involved and the rhymes aren't as good). Here the same world is pretty much intact and the rhyme and meter only falter once. It's not as wonderful as Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site but it's very good and your preschooler will love it. One very positive difference (if obvious--but only because it's odd enough to stand out) is that in this sequel some of the trucks are gendered female. I appreciate that not only because little girls might want to read a truck book, but even more so for my son. We can raise strong girls but if we don't ALSO raise boys not to run away from anything that gets gendered female, then we're only being halfway successful. Thank you to whoever made sure that some of the trucks are "she"!

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has a nice plot -- the original five trucks from Goodnight Goodnight ... 5 April 2017
By Ben and Larissa - Published on Amazon.com

My toddler is a big fan of Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site and we bought this for him right away. This book has a nice plot -- the original five trucks from Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site need to call some friends to help them finish a big job. There's a message about the benefits of teamwork, but it doesn't hit kids over the head with a strong moral. It's a nice balance -- the lesson is there for them but kids are free to enjoy a great story about construction vehicles. I was overjoyed to find some female trucks in here, a great improvement from the original book. The rhythm and rhymes are great and will keep an active child engaged in the text. The pictures are just so charming. I love the friendly faces on the trucks, as does my toddler. This is bound to become a classic. I would recommend this for ages 2 on up, but serious truck lovers (like my 21 month old) will begin to enjoy it sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for any kid fascinated with everything construction 15 Feb. 2017

We finally received the book this evening and we have already read it 4 times before bed. Since I've read Goodnight, Goodnight Construction site over 100+ times already, I feel the flow of this book is similar. The rhymes were great, the illustrations were great, and best of all, my 3 year old LOVES this book. What a great addition to our book collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun story. 9 Mar. 2017
By Jt - Published on Amazon.com

Great follow up to "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site". Lots of new construction machines of both sexes, and fun rhymes for the daytime job. As the job finishes and the activity winds down, the extra machines go home, and the original construction equipment goes to sleep at the end. Another nice bedtime story from this author.
