I Love this story.

‘Midnight’ is the debut novel for Author Elizabeth Miller, and I’ve got to hand it to her, she has done an amazing job with it.
At first I was a bit dubious about reading this. I am not at all in to politics, and don’t understand anything to with it. But, you soon forget that politics is involved at all.

The preface drags you in, and intrigues you. I became hooked and ended up staying up all night in order to finish it.

When Charlie Carter is offered a job to follow Republican candidate Colin McKenna to take charge of his social media campaign, Charlie is at first a bit apprehensive. She has little interest in politics and politicians in general, stating they “are pompous asses in three-piece very-expensive suits”, and knows very little of Colin himself.

From the very first time she claps eyes on him, she is shocked to find him so young, intense and downright HOT. There is an instant, electrifying pull towards him that, in all honestly terrifies her.

“I’m in a trance, a moth caught it a spider’s web without the ability to escape. He’s absolutely gorgeous”.

“By his mere presence, Colin McKenna commands attention and he definitely has mine, every nerve in my body is highly attuned to his proximity, shimmering, a spark waiting to ignite.”

Colin, having set his sight on the presidential campaign throws his all in to his career. That is until Charlie enters his life. He tries to keep her at arm’s length; to supress the intense pull he feels toward her. But it’s not long before he can no longer ignore it.

“You don’t know me. You have no idea how complicated I am, how complicated my life is,” he breaths into me, holding me firmly with his eyes while our bodies remain a hairsbreadth apart.

I loved this book from the very beginning and I very rarely give 5 stars. I wish I could give more!

I was hooked from the beginning and barely got anything else done just so I could continue reading. Was a bit wary thinking the politics side of it would be heavy but this is a true love story and nothing comes in its way. Charlie is amazing. She has gone through a horrific experience but she has pulled herself up and is a feisty, funny and very likeable person. Colin too has had sadness but I felt he was too intense at times and I didn't like the way he shuts himself off from love. Another thing, I want the baddies to be really bad but none of this takes away from a really good read and I know I only have five days to wait for book 2 to be released. Can hardly wait after such a cliffhanger.

Well, what a story. Fantastic, fabulous. Can you tell I really, really loved it. Don't want to leave any spoilers but crikey the ending I really wasn't expecting and it really does leave everything in the air. The love story between Charlie and McKenna is so good, it's sexy, sensual and so believable. So why was he so cruel, why did he do it? He said he could explain......wow. If you want to read an intelligent, well written love story with an unbelievably good ending albeit a cliff hanger you have to read this. You won't regret it.

I so didn't see that coming, what a masterpiece! The hot scenes I felt were a bit too many but they set the scene well and intensified the connection to make the end that more heart wrenching. I could feel Charlie's pain as though it was my own after how much of herself she bared. Only thing missing for me was a dual POV it would have given an insight in Colin' s mind. I refuse to believe he could be that...which he is at the end but I guess having one POV allows for the blindsiding at the end. You got to read it and see if you don't sleep at 4am like I did!!!

What a cracker of a story, other reviewers have given the summary, so enough said. What you have here is a well written book, the ending was heart thudding you knew something was coming and when it hit you it's jaw dropping. Worst thing.....end of book when it says sequel to be released in May, Not many books make me want to read on but I've actually put the release date on my calendar so I don't forget. Just hope this isn't stretched to a trilogy don't think I take that!!!

Hook line and sinker. I was not sure about this book as politics is not my thing but I have to say I loved this story and am waiting anxiously for the next one! I was so hooked that I stayed up reading it until I was finished.

The characters are fantastic and to be honest I do not have the words to show how much I loved this book. It is saved in my favourites file on my kindle as I will be reading it again and again xx

This is a tale that sucks you in from the beginning as we quickly get to know the characters. The trauma of Charlie's earlier life is dealt with compassionately. As a Brit the look into American politics is interesting and provides a backdrop for this tale of heartbreak.
I'm eagerly awaiting the second book, roll on May 1st!

After reading the glowing reviews and as the book was a freebie I decided to read it. The best choice ever. It was a page turner all the way. At times their love was too good to be true and was waiting for things to " blow up" ... What an end and to think that I have to wait for 1/5/15 to find out Charlie's fate.
