About the Author

Anya Bast lives in the country with her Belgian husband, their tornado toddler of a daughter, and more cats, dogs, and rabbits than is sane. Ever since she was a little girl, Anya has told stories (much to her mother's dismay). She's happy to finally be making a career out of it. A native of one of the colder states, she loves to ice skate and watch hockey. She has fascination for crows, ravens and birds of prey. She enjoys the study of Eastern philosophy, Celtic myth, dreaming, and shamanism and occasionally incorporates what she learns into her paranormal stories. She works part time as a data base editor and French translator.

Elizabeth is an Asrai, a kind of Fae who can dissolve into water and then travel in it from place to place. She has been charged by the Queen of the Seelie Court to hide the last two pieces of the Bosca Fadbh so as they cannot be re-united with their partners within the Unseelie Court. However, someone has been despatched from the Unseelie Court to catch her and make her reveal their whereabouts. This person is Niall the Mage and he is prepared to fight dirty until he finds he is falling in love with the enigmatic and secretive Elizabeth. He tries all his magic on her when he finally captures her but she still will not reveal where the pieces are and also who she is protecting and why.

Meanwhile elsewhere in Pffierburg unknown and unseen, Gideon Amberdoyal has got inside the walls and gone to meet with a person who has been helping him all along.......several other Phaendir are also inside the city and have been for sometime. Their collective minds create a 'hive' which Gideon can tap into to use magic. His ultimate aim is to destroy all the Fae.

When you get to read this you maybe astonished as to who has been helping the odious Gideon, I was.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth is still reluctant to give up what she is hiding and to protect her Mother in case the walls of the city do come down, she has moved her to another location. However, her Mother being older and wiser realises that one death in a war is collateral damage compared to what will happen if the pieces of the Bosca Fadbh are not re-united with their partners and the Book of Bindings which are currently residing with Aislinn and Gabriel in the Dark Tower of the Shadow Queen. So she herself delivers them to the Shadow Queen, Aislinn.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Fantasy World 1 Jun. 2017

Anya Blast has created one of my favorite fantasy worlds. In some ways not so different from our own, fae fighting for freedom and acceptance. Others trying to keep them out of society and hating them because they are different. You can not help but sympathize with their struggle and come care about the characters. A hot romance also moves the saga along. You should read this series in order.
4.0 out of 5 stars A new beginning or end 12 Sept. 2016

For hundreds of years the fae's imprisonment maybe soon be over the order who originally created the barrier that fear it may end soon. They developed a barrier to keep them in. But there's away to destroy the barrier, and many both human and certain fae don't wish that. The simplest is keep the device but slowly and surely the pieces were put to together. The problem is how does it work!
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!! 20 Mar. 2013

By far Anya Bast is one of the best paranormal erotic writers out there. This whole series pulls you in from the very beginning. I laughed, cried, cheered for the unseely court which normally I don't do in other fae series. Anything that Anya Bast puts out there is diffenently worth the read.

I think that I have read all of Anya Bast's books and this was by far my favorite! Midnight Enchantment was everything a final book in the series should be. It is fast paced that kept me hooked from start to finish.

As far as the story line goes Elizabeth is hiding the missing pieces needed for the walls to come down. She is determined to keep them to protect one she loves. Niall will stop at nothing to get them and hand them over to the shadow queen so the fae will finally be free.

What will happen when sparks fly between this unlikely pair? Will the fae go free or be forever trapped?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read! 11 Feb. 2012

I went in not knowing that this was the final book in the series. Normally when that happens I get furious that I didn't have time to prepare myself for the ending of a series before its over while reading the book. Then I have to take time to reconcile the whole thing afterwards. When series I love end, I grieve like a child who's lost their favorite toy. Although I am sad that this series is at its end, I am grateful for how Anya wrapped it up. At the end you knew it was the end, and there wasnt so much unfinished business that you can't get past that it's the end. You put the book down and smile about what happened and you can imagine what will come.
If you've kept up with any of Anya's books or series you will love this story. (I do however strongly recommend reading the first three first, I don't think these were meant to read as a stand alone) I would recommend these books to anyone who likes paranormal stories. There were twists and turns in this book that kept you reading. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time waiting for what would happen next. If you've read this far, you will be extremely happy adding this book to your repertoire. If you haven't I strongly urge you to get this book and the others in this series, you won't be disappointed!
