Microsoft Money UK Ies: V5/97 (In Easy Steps Series) Paperback – 13 Mar. 1997
The first chapter teaches the reader how to start MS Money, work with the screen and Navigation Bar, use Money's Help system, run a Product tour and connect to and use the MoneyZone, Microsoft's online help service for Money users. The second chapter is dedicated to Money files and explains how to create, open, back up, restore, archive and export Money files. It also describes how to import QIF and Quicken files.
Next, the author looks at the Account Register. Here, an overview of transactions is provided and the author teaches how to enter and move between transactions, create and use categories, create and use classifications and create and use splits. The next area covered is Accounts. The reader learns how to create, open, edit, close and delete accounts, work with the Account Manager, transfer money and print the Account Register contents and lists.
The fifth chapter covers scheduling transactions with the Payment Calendar. The reader is taught to set up recurring transactions, amend scheduled entries, deal with and customise reminders and enter scheduled transactions. The next chapter is dedicated to reconciliation, where the reader is initially provided with an overview, and then taken through the four stages of reconciliation.
Further areas covered include creating, customising and printing reports and charts, using the Mortgage and Retirement Planners, running the Savings Calculator, and finally Home Banking, including signing up, paying bills electronically and updating the account.
MS Money UK in easy steps uses concise language, avoids the use of technical jargon and assumes no prior computing knowledge. It is illustrated with clear screen shot annotations so the reader can check that their screen is displaying what is indicated in the book. This book is ideal for all users of this software package whether a novice user, someone updating from a previous version, or a current user requiring an easy to follow reference guide.
