Luckily this is a game not only for the mature player but also for the kids. If you only like games like unreal and the like, don't read any further, this one is not for you. The game looks great, and its very easy to get into it. The option to influence the time is great, you can effect your surroundings, and sometimes you have to go back to a level to open up new passages with the time ability. You can play through a level first, but then you only have seen a part of it. Later on with new abilities you can find hidden paths and collect your cat medals. Also you can upgrade your gear to suck up larger objects, and then you can do more damage to the bigger monsters. The first level is maybe easy, but it lets you get the hang for the game, and level 2 gets already more complicated. This is a game that you will play for weeks to come. And surely the kids will go back to it after that time.

Blinx is a fun and fast platformer which takes one step above a world saving plumber- a time sweeping cat! Hows that for innovation!?!A lot of reveiwers have moaned about this game, but quite frankly I don't see why. The graphics really take advantage of the power of XBOX. The gameplay is fun and fast and there is no slowdown at all, and the 10 minuite time limit means you won't have to spend hours of boring gameplay looking for the next boss or level. The game takes a while to crack but even when you do you'll be coming back to try and get the toughest armour and strongest vacuum on the block. A fast and frantic game, this really does make a classic!

I remember being intrigued when first hearing about blinx. suprisingly I never thought that a person like me, who prefers a good FPS or beat-em-up, especially when i prefer multiplayer gaming, to be purchasing a single player cartoony platform puzzle game. The time control aspect is brilliant and is sometimes essential in order to progress, but in a nutshell makes puzzles easier as well as fighting time monsters. the objective of each mission is to kill all the time monsters on each level within 10 mins. In this respect it's not too puzzle packed but there are some puzzles which you might find quite dificult if you find it hard to grasp the time control aspect. I don't normally play puzzle games but this game veers more on the side of platformer and I think what probably drew me to blinx was the total originality on the time control idea. Time can be paused or slowed so in general the world is easier to move in and deal with, Fast forward is used to speed up your runs if you are going for speed records, if a bridge collapses, no problem. use a rewind and presto, uncollapsed bridge. record lets you kill a few monsters and say, jump on a switch to open a door. then time rewinds and the recording of your actions plays back in real time, allowing you to go grab some time crystals, while not being hampered by any enemies, as they are all after your recording. I know giving a game the full score is silly, but I reckon this is gonna become a classic, and its good to see some non-launch titles that are utilising the Xbox Hardware to great effect. Microsoft is on the right track now methinks. release a few more games as original as this and you'll have it made.

Blinx is a smart game, showing its pedigree (it comes from the guys who bought you Sonic). The graphics are sharp - and the only way to play is to make intelligent use of the various time crystals that let you manipulate time. As you purchase better equipment, you can also revisit earlier levels, where say a more powerful time sweeper will let you access areas you couldn't first time around. Very smart and compelling. Only major weakness is a few flawed camera angles. Knocks spots off the childish and dated antics of Mario ...

I bought this game a lot after it was released, for a very low price and I played it on my Xbox360. It's not really well emulated (lot of fps drops with apparently no reason, thanks M$) but it's still really enjoyable. The graphics was great when it was released, now it's less impressive but still good. The game is not bad, I think it's fun for the most of the time, only sometimes you get really frustrated, especially for bad gameplay choices. It might be repetitive after some time also. Something good for me is the difficulty, very high from the beginning, that's totally good for an old-school platform lover like me :) So, If you own an Xbox/Xbox360 and love platform you should give it a try, it's not bad and it's your only choice along with xbox live arcade games. Anyway if you own a Nintendo Gamecube/Wii you can find better platform games for sure!

Yes, I know the pun is bad, but the game? On the contrary, it's a great action platformer! Although the basic concept of a cat with a hoover sucking things up seems offputting for £20, it's a great game when you mix up fast-forwarding, rewinding, slo-mo and various other things to get past each stage and boss! If that's not your thing, I wouldn't bother because it's just that for 20 hours. A great game none the less and I'd recommend it to those who can get it cheap (£20 or less).

The verdict:

7 out of 9 - Great platformer, doing only what it says on the tin. Don't expect it to wipe your buttocks for you.
