A good publication for those who have not learnt to use PowerPoint and I would recommend it to them. The content is clear and sensibly presented. There are lots of pictures of screens (yours should look like this style). I was competent with previous versions so have not gained much from this book.

Good book for people with a very basic knowledge of Powerpoint, would recommend perhaps a more advanced book for those people with an understanding of Powerpoint

It is neither plain nor simple. It assumes a prior knowledge of a great deal of programming jargon.
If you are a beginner and want to learn "Powerpoint", try something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really IS plain & Simple!! 11 Nov. 2007
By Nanci - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I had never used Power Point, and in a month I have a presentation due for a new course I am taking. I looked for the simplest, most understandable book that would not take me a year to read through. I hadn't much faith, knowing how techy books, especially for software, were: complex, assuming you know more than you do.
This book is so enjoyable to use, and so simple, I could start from square one and complete my presentation in one evening. I wish I could write Nancy and thank her! If you have never worked with Power Point, or think it is too complicated, this is the book for you. Forget the classes, just get this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy on an old man 9 May 2008

Garmin StreetPilot III Instructional Video (010-10296-00)
Like the title says, Plain and Simple. For an old man making the jump from windows 95 to Vista and a number of office suites apps. this was very helpful as were the other books in this series that I have purchased. It was not to loaded with jargon and did not assume I was a c++ programer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good 16 Nov. 2008
By D. E. Forrester - Published on Amazon.com

I just finished a course in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and find the book helpful in reviewing what I learned in class. Since I am 77 years old I do not retain information as well as I used to and need to have reference material as this is not something I use every day. I am sure it will be a helpful resource in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST! 12 Dec. 2008
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I was about to spend quite a few dollars to take the course. Then I thought, let me try this and I'm glad that I did. Like the author said,"Plain & Simple" and fun. That's what it is. It is also a good reference book to keep on hand, if you forget how to do a command just pull it off the shelf and you are back in business. I've been able to produce artistic looking thank you notes and cards, which saves on buying cards....go for it!

Thank you Ms. Muir

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent PowerPoint Book 18 Jan. 2009
By Kathy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I am so pleased with this book. I am using this book to teach PowerPoint2007 to nurse educator students. The book provides very clear instructions and has images to correspond with each of the instructions. Well written index, so it is easy to find the topic you want to learn.
