Apart from the seemingly strange lack of stars in such a modern up-and-coming city as Glasgow has been for the last decade, the guide and its ratings and recommendations seem well-founded. At least the ones we've tried out ourselves. We've never left feeling disappointed after a meal in any restaurant we've found in the guide, star or no star. Out of place once or twice, perhaps, but as the trend is for a more friendly informality in previously posh restaurants, these may be the best of times to eat a star or two even if you thought it was a bit too posh in the past.
For anyone who loves good food, and who likes to indulge in a proper slap-up meal when travelling, this guide is a good place to find ideas for where to go. And there is so much to choose from it's both a delight and sometimes it makes it hard to know where to begin.
