In the Philippines, luffas have been used as washing-up scourers for generations. Continuing this tradition, Michael's Original grow luffas to organic principles on their family farm for this purpose. Ideal for washing-up, Michael's Original washing up pads are supple enough to bend round rims, reach into corners and are suitable for all your washing-up (soak baked on food first). They have plenty of scrubbing power and are durable and tough enough to clean up pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and all surfaces. They are gentle enough for non-stick surfaces, sensitive enough for fruit and vegetables (and safe enough for your body in the shower!). They last for between 3 and 12 months and when they are worn out can be composted, saving landfill. Contrary to popular belief Luffa are not sea creatures like sponges but are plants grown on land. Michael's Original luffas are clean and hygienic. Rinse and air dry by hanging them up or throw them in the dish/clothes washer. They are biodegradable, so after their natural life, feed your compost or wormery with them, not the land fill.

Nice eco/green product. Nice that the packaging is cardboard and can be recycled rather than plastic.
When scrubbing you don't have to worry about scratches as its strange but they're totally abrasive to cut up dirt, but bendy too.
I love that they're the natural, eco friendly option. I think I will subscribe. Kind on the hands also.
I've been using it on my cast iron (and other ware) every day for about a week now and my verdict is that they're brilliant and, in fact, do a better job for me than the Ringer did. I'll definitely be ordering more of them, as needed (pads are supposed to last about 3 months a piece). Love the fact, too, that they're compostable after their scrubbing days are done.
