Born in Germany to WWII American soldier and German mother who served in the Luftwaffe as a spotter along the Rhine. Spent first 18 years on various American Army bases in U. S. and Europe. Served in U. S Navy aboard the destroyer escort USS Cromwell, DE-1014. BA in Anthropology from Ithaca College; MSW from Syracuse University. Worked in VA clinic and then in U.S. Army psychiatric clinic in Germany for Dept. of Defense.
Writes historical fiction novels, including the Jonathan Kinkaid nautical fiction series (now numbering 6 volumes) that follows an American naval officer during the American Revolution. Also wrote the epic adventure "Sunset of the Iroquois," a true story about a tribe of Cayuga Iroquois who tried to prevent the invasion of their lands by Washington's army in 1779, as well as the Sgt. Smith WWII trilogy, the first two books being "Baptism of Fire," and "Soldiers in the Sun."
