Having moved from the UK to Crete in 2002, looking forward to a future of happily sitting in the sun waiting for God, I soon came to realise you can only do so much sitting before you get bored. That was when I fell into writing. I submitted an article entitled - It's been a pig of a day - to the ATHENS NEWS. It was a tale all about pigs and how I helped an eccentric pig man in his hour of need. Before I knew it I became a regular columnist writing a weekly column all about the exploits of village life.
Readers seemed to like it because the newspaper published a book based on my column called EVERYDAY LIFE IN THE VILLAGE.
By then I had got the bit between my teeth and wrote GREECE MY PALM WITH DREAMS - all about finding our village house in the 80's and recounting all the humorous adventures we bumped on along the way. It sold well.
I've now published a 5 book series beginning with A VILLAGE WAITING FOR GOD - all set on a Greek island. Each book will hopefully tickle your fancy, introducing various ex-pat characters living their dream in the sun as three old farts from the village ruminate on the change newcomers have brought to their way of life.
In a new departure I am now writing a detective series, set in the sixties with the leading character of Detective Inspector Jack Gilbert and his team. The first taster - THE CHOCOLATE KILLER is due to be published in April 2018, closely followed by THE ADVENT TRAIN.
I shall do my best to continue writing; that is, unless my number is called and I no longer have the luxury of waiting for God anymore.
