Lasted three weeks and fell apart
Do not buy !
I have asked the company to replace it and will let you know how that goes !
Arrived on circuit of the morning of the race, set it up, settled in with a beer and proceeded to put my feet up, great I am thinking to myself, this is just beautiful, sun is out.....beer is in hand, sat just down from the Dunlop Bridge directly in front of the mahoosive TV screen.....and thats when the chair showed signs of its true pedigree....a seam opened up on the footrest corner, oh thats just bloody dandy, cheap thread used to hold it together, I knew at that point that I was into a world of problems in the offing....1 hour into the 24hr race, 23 to go....the chair and my posterior were in a race to the bitter end...Porsche, Toyota, Audi, Ferrari or Ford were not going to eclipse this event.....would it hold together long enough to finish the race.....would I end up in a heap or sat between metal random poles, fabric, spilt seams and a numb bum.....and the metal pole is now poking through the fabric on the split seam.....you utter complete idiot I am telling myself as I jealously look on at my Brother and my Brotherinlaw sat in their Amazon purchases (not the item I bought I hasten to add) which are showing no signs of fatigue, stress, or strain and a reasonable tensile strength to the thread used to hold theirs together......
4 Hours in I am nurturing the chair by not putting my feet up on the split seam and poking through pole.....I need to nurse this baby to the end, time for strategic weight shifting and rebalancing me things, unfortunately also time for a empty of the bladder, crap that means I got to get up out of my wounded purchase...careful Steve dont put any weight on the stressed areas telling myself, that was until the retaining fabric at the back of the chair tore off, the bit by your bum which ties the fabric to the pole.......ripped on one side only.....this isn't going well....2 points of failure after 4 hours, quick calculation of how many more failure points exist on this less than satisfactory purchase...at this rate the chair will expire before the end of the race.....and the breakages are opposites, right foot furthest extremity....left bum cheek at the back....time to look and see other areas of the track....thats off to Arnage for us.....2 hours of walking, bus etc and we duly arrive at Arnage, this will do us, we will set up shop, pitch the chairs for the evening and settle down for the long night shift....unpacked the chair.....3 rd point of failure occurs on the back right leg knuckle mechanism before the bum has touched down, the bit which touches the ground has fallen apart.....well thats marvelous I am telling myself.....this chair will not spoil my once in a life time experience of Le-mans, luckily though I am a resourceful individual, who pre packed with a strategy, armed with some nylon string and 4 very large long zip ties I fashion a repair...not a good repair but a on the road side night is coming, nothing left in the backpack repair......carefully my posterior is lowered into place, another hour passes, excellent racing in the series I hasten to add, quick look at the temporary repair.....4th failure occurs....right bum cheek rear tie has torn as I had shifted my weight by 1/2 kilo to look at the rear leg.....I think I must have blinked and the weight transfer was enough, seam and fabric torn....
Now this thing is getting uncomfortable, i have arthritis in my spine and struggle in a good chair, this is not a good chair, wasnt when it was brand new, and it was getting worse every hour of the race....3 more hours pass without any further decline in the chairs structural integrity race against gravity, time to move again, lets go see another area of the track, this was a blessing as my legs were going numb at this point due to the chair seating position, a good long walk will do me good me thinks and will also buy time on this sorry purchase making the end of the race.
Walking back past Virage from Arnage we detour and follow the track though the infield area....nice and quiet now it dark and getting cold and nearly at a place where we can set up again, seats out, bloody mary snifter to warm the cockles, followed by a coffee, now to set up, chair out, temporary repair adjusted, on the broken foot, feet up and 5th failure occurs, left foot rest seam has torn and I now have poles sticking out, nothing to be done with it, run out of materials, consumable repair items and now patience, time to sleep for a couple of hours....
Morning arrives, god its cold....well it would be with your bum touching the ground, the seat has settled gracefully in the night and the 4 legs have parted, the frame is just about shot...god I need a wee, a quick inspection of the other chairs shows me I am the only one in failure, well thats just dandy, damn....why didnt I buy the same as those other 2 gits.....lets get the blood moving first....and then try to afford another repair...I didnt name the old girl as it wasnt a love I was nurturing more of a hatred of who made it....
I suppose this was not a discrete failure, it settled in the night, caused more by the nylon string slackening, another inspection of what is available to me.....yes I have the carry case it came in with a piece of draw cord and toggle.....that will do me, lets repair this bad boy only 8 hours to go......I knew a long way off this chair wasnt coming back to blighty....she was definitely staying in France to spend her days in the dumpster with the other several thousand cheap chairs,a casualty of the trip.....like so many other british crusades in foreign territory some always get left behind.
This last repair got me to the last lap of the race....those that do not follow LeMans 24hr, You tube it, with Toyota in the lead, Porsche in hot pursuit.....it was an epic battle.....the Toyota had a mechanical failure on the last lap and lost it, Porsche triumphed....Miadomodo Folding Camping Chair did not, she dies as did the Toyota......a camping chair it is not, unless you want to camp for an hour...as thats how long it lasted in its designed and delivered form, now I am not a massive weight, 14st 9lbs, 6 ft....I suggest this would carry someone half that weight for a bit longer....do not buy this..it is rubbish....it is nasty and the materials that hold it together are poor quality. i didnt expect it to last forever, and at the price I should of known better but the other chairs lasted the duration at the same price.....this one will not...dont buy it.
