Brilliant Clear light, Massive Engery Savings, And Works Fantastic with the CORRECT DIMMER SWITCH. if you are thinking of purchasing these for dimming, buy the correct dimmer switch otherwise you will have flickering. Once you get the dimmer switch read the destructions on how to program the switch for min and max light levels. I read a load of bad reviews about people having issues and this is down to not having the correct DIMMER SWITCH.

Ive reduced a power hungry 200w light bar down to 16w !!! every what counts with energy these days.

We had a ceiling full on GU10 bulbs fitted in our new kitchen about three years ago. Rather disappointingly we were soon looking around for replacements as several of them failed quite quickly. We soon found that replacements for these bulbs were not cheap in the big warehouse stores like B&Q and Homebase, and that the very basic replacements promised only 1000 hours or one year's life. This is poor on more than one level as we have not found them the easiest bulb to fit (may just be the sort of fitting we have) so the last thing we wanted to do was to be replacing them all the time.

Hence we started to look at long life, low energy LED replacements. Although more expensive these offer an extremely long life and an energy usage of less than 10% of the basic item. In fact the 50,000 hours life of this bulb at our normal daily usage of a couple of hours represents just about a lifetime! I recently looked at comparable LEDs from a leading manufacturer which had a list price of approximately six times the price per bulb listed here, and a `bargain', reduced offer price which was still over double. However, given the long life and energy saving they still represented a good deal and were worth fitting.

All bulbs have a K rating which means their rating under the Kelvin scale. Traditional incandescent bulbs have a K rating between 2,700 and 3,300. This particular bulb is rated at K4,000 and hence produces a whitish lighting effect which is why it is described as Cool White.

If you have dimmer switches and are looking to buy LEDs be sure to choose the variety that states it is dimmable, like this one, as it is not automatically the case that they are.

Work as very expensive non dimmable lights. Some sort of weird (american?) Voltage means that although I have tried three different dimmer switches, fitted by a sparky, all have caused a strobing effect or not worked at all. The electrician did some research on the internet and spent 50 mins trying to install the dimmer switch which he thought would work, based upon his research, it didn't. I have the hassle of not being able to send the lights back as I accidently damaged one of the boxes. I also have to print off label and drive 4 miles to drop off this item at a return point. I bet if I went down to b and q this wouldn't happen. Really annoyed. I'm sure this hasn't happened to others, but make sure you research these led lights carefully.

Purchased these to replace my 10 gu10 bulbs which were eating into my electric bill - 400w a go sometimes. Now around 30w. Excellent value for money and perfect results. The warm glow is far better than cool, less clinical. An absolute must. Dim very well but had to upgrade my dimmer switch to a trailing edge, other than that job done in 10mins. Recommended.

All bulbs have a K rating which means their rating under the Kelvin scale. Traditional incandescent bulbs have a K rating between 2,700 and 3,300. This particular bulb is rated at K3,000 and hence produces a lighting effect broadly comparable to traditional bulbs which is why it is described as Warm White. Higher K ratings such as K4,000 and K5,000 produce a much whiter, more clinical looking looking light so you have to decide the effect you are looking for.
