The special edition box set is amazing. The box is huge and of very good quality. The contents are high gloss post cards for each of the main 2d metroids game to date. There is also the game itself and the steel case, all of which are nice. Neatly packed underneath is the art book which is seriously next level of cool artwork for each of the games. I haven't looked at the art for Dread yet fearing there could be spoilers inside, but I look forward to looking through it when I've got into the game more.
The game itself is amazing so far, although I am huge fan of the series and genre in general so my opinion is probably slightly biased.
I'll add some updates hopefully when I've given it more time but the initial impressions are very favourable. Great graphics, great fluidity of movement, eerie music and atmosphere.
Can't comment in storytelling at the moment but I'm usually there for the gameplay and atmosphere over the story but so far there is hints of plenty going on!

Great Package for Fans

As a big Metroid fan, I loved the art book and art cards showcasing the franchise's history. The game itself is a solid 2D action platformer. On a first playthrough it might seem restrictive with a very linear path to follow, but the developers have actually built in sequence breaking like Metroid: Zero Mission. It's awesome.
