This is the story of Cameron and Dax and I have to say the pulse that flowed between them from start to finish was electrifying
Cameron – or known as Cam is a very powerful woman, she is super successful and holds power not only in her position as CEO of a bank but also in all things personal. But is her need for control masking her true desires or does she actually know what she needs?
Dax on the other hand was the complete antithesis and this confident, kind man is also set in his ways but he owes his demeanour, he oozes not only determination but domination and he refuses to change his ways for her.
But when she needs someone the most, following a particularly nasty attack, it is Dax that steps up to be there for her. When she eventually opens her eyes it is his face that she sees and it stuns her to discover that Dax has been at her side the entire time.
Cam is blown away by his actions, she is not usually on the receiving end of such unsolicited kindness and she cannot help but to re-evaluate the way she has looked and treated the man, is there more to Dax than she had credited him with?
They begin to get to know each other and when she is released from the hospital she reluctantly takes Dax up on his offer to stay with him while she continues to recuperate. Now I felt for her at this point because she really wasn’t 100% certain that it was such a smart move but she went with the general consensus of all those around her.
Perhaps they could see that Dax was someone that would bring their friend out of her shell and show her what she was missing in life.

I had no idea when I ordered this book what it was about, I hadn't even seen the cover, which might have given me a clue. It was only when I got it out of the pack and saw the warning on the back cover about it being explicit, I began to worry. Usually these books are all about the sex with a thin tapered story. Boring after you read one or two. But I hold up my hands, this one was a brilliant story. Nothing explicit until about 3/4 of the way into the book. By then I had got to know the characters and I really liked them. I hadn't expected this book to have such a gripping storyline or it to have bene as well written as it was. In essence is a romantic love story at heart.

Cameron is attacked and raped and Dax is the one that looks after her and helps her to recover. I don't want give anything away, but I can say Dax is a gorgeous creature and all he wants in life is to make Cameron better. As for the explicit bit, well, I raised both eye brows as it took me to a world I knew nothing about it. Think 50 Shades, is all I can say, but of the two, this is the best. After all, you can enjoy a good crime story without wanting to commit a crime!!

Oh this book was so good, i loved it so much. You get sucked into Cameron and her life she is a strong woman, but even the strongest falter either because of themselves or outside forces. I loves watching how Dax helped Cam overcome her setback and it is a serious setback do not think i am making it seem less serious than it is. Dax is the man who every woman wants in their life someone who is always there for Cameron which makes you love him even more. My heart is still aching from finishing this book, but it is so worth it as it was an excellent read.

HASH(0x8e32c4d4) out of 5 stars Not Even Remotely Realistic 28 Jan. 2015

I haven't read a book this bad in a long time. From the weird present tense narrative, which only works some of the time and awkward most of the time, to Dax the way too perfect "Courage to Heal" significant other whose entirely inappropriate statements are overlooked (dear gods, who tells a woman he's going to punish her for standing him up right after she wakes up in the hospital after a brutal rape???), to the obvious lack of editing (your instead of you're, for example), this book is full of howling errors, right down to the fact that Cam's therapist practically raised Dax. She should have recused herself. Can you say conflict of interest?

The pacing was way off (two pages of dialog, and suddenly the therapy hour is over? huh?), magic happened (how did Cam suddenly have her keys when she didn't have any pockets and she'd left her purse behind?), and everybody could read everybody else's mind just from the tiniest facial expression. And I couldn't even understand how Dax got called to the scene of Cam's attack to identify her. That made no sense at all.

No, just no. This story is too ridiculous for words.

HASH(0x8ef84924) out of 5 stars Beauty within a book- 30 Sept. 2014

Dax and Cam... I don't know what to say about them that will make you understand the depth of their story.
Cam she is a ball busting CEO and prides herself on control. There are reasons behind this persona she has made for herself, and when that control is ripped away from her, she crumbles, denies, lashes out but with Dax she finally begins to take that control back.
Dax, he has had loss in his life, that made him take stock of the type of person he wants to be, and the person he wants in his life, which is Cam.
Their love story and heartbreak isn't typical. You have the push and pull, but there are so many other elements in this book. The power exchange, the solace, the grief.... There are two parts in this book that I felt it in my bones, literally. I was reading and I had an "aha" moment that put everything in perspective for me, and in those chapters a greater connection and level of understanding of these two souls was reached.
It isn't all hearts and flowers, but what great love story is?
I can't wait to read about the others in this book, and Stephie Walls knows how to write and keep you wanting more.

Stephie did it again to me... She sucked me in, wrapped me up and knocked me out with this book. Lord knows where her creativity comes from but thank god she has it. What a pulse stopping, heart pulsating emotionally gripping read. To this day, likely one if the best I've read. The trauma is real and I felt it. The hurt, anguish and fear... I had it. Cam is truly my hero. And Dax, well, he's got to be the best written male ever. This is a beautifully sad love story. No, not love story, life story. I can't explain it nor describe it adequately because I just don't have the words. I was every character and every situation. Stephie has a skill set that puts her above the rest. She has the ability to draw you in and make you feel what's going on. The title of this book is so apropos. I myself went through a metamorphosis reading this. If you haven't read this, you should. Be prepared to cry and swoon and be pissed and just overall emotionally overloaded. Be prepared to love this book. I did!

HASH(0x8d8e6558) out of 5 stars Amazing story!! 2 Oct. 2014

I loved Cam, she is the kind of woman we all need to be!! She is cut throat and doesn't take s*** from no one, that is until a certain cocky, sexy as sin man waltzes into her life. Cam is not looking for love. She is absolutely content living her life her way, and spending her free time with her friends. But when tragedy strikes can Dax, the cocky, sexy as sin man, help heal her and show her everyone needs love in their life? Cam has never depended on someone to take care of her and after the hell she is put through she needs to come to terms with herself, that everyone needs help some time in their lives. I love the relationship between Cam and Dax, it's not all love and sunshine, they have to work for what they have. It's not easy, especially for Cam. I think Stephie did an amazing job of writing such a beautiful story. I cant' wait to read more about the other people in the story!! 5 stars for me!!

HASH(0x8db9bc48) out of 5 stars Cameron and Dax is a great story of love 30 Sept. 2014

Stephie Walls has done it again! Cameron and Dax is a great story of love, trust, and faith. Cam, as she likes to be called, is a very young CEO of a banking company. She is always in control of her life until tragedy strikes and her life is turned upside down.
Dax is controlling dominant guy who comes to Cam's aid. Cam has to give up her control in order to Dax to help her regain control in life again.
