I didn't realise that this book is American based but it does have some transferable tips. I would not bother buying this for basic start-up tips of metal detecting in the UK. If you wish to go metal detecting in USA then this is a fun book to make the most of the information therein.

This book is very infonertive about the subject and makes it easy to understand there is lots of information on the things you may need to help you with your detecting. I would recommend this book to others.

I managed to read through this book very quickly, it's informative yet easy going, with a bit of wit included. It is really geared towards detecting in the USA though so not sure if some of the advice given (ie where you can search for treasure) would be different in the UK.

I agree with "Georgina": this is pretty useless if you are not in the USA...

A good book, does what it says on the cover, guides the beginner through every aspect of metal detecting. Geared more for the American market I think, but still very useful to anyone starting out in metal detecting ' world wide'.

I very much like that this book did not only cover the aspect of treasure hunting, but also give me the knowledge of the process of cleaning, preserving and the way of making the tools to do the job. I as a rule don't read books that much but I found myself not being able to put this book down as it being full of helpful information as to the way the research is done.

Unclear that the book was a guide to detecting in the USA. Product information not at all so relevant in the UK.
