HASH(0x9d0c463c) out of 5 stars Dark and very good. 24 Nov. 2008

Jorodowski and Gimenez both have very wicked and wonderful minds.

Both the artist and the writer create a wonderful and creative new world. Dark and sharp in most places, bloody, moving, always interesting. Their characters, the members of the caste of the ultimate warriors, think and behave in ways no ordinary humans would consider, not even in their wildest dreams.

Metabarons are science fiction and space opera, a tale about a family and about an evolution of an idea. One of the best and most memorable graphic novels in the genre.

[the uncensored versions of these series contain scenes and ideas of graphic violence not suitable for everybody]

This book is wonderful. For those who know Jorodowski (The Incal), they will appreciate the content of this comic (the whole serie) that deals with the story of the legendary Metabaron. The drawing is awesome, full of details and the characters described just came out of an explosive and inventive brain. Wherever you go, you will enjoy the story.

Art on this series is kinda w.e but the story is soooo goood it doesn't really matter that you miss moebius's heavy metal and incal style characters/art. And sometimes the aesthetic is close enough maybe you can pretend its moebius not caring anymore... But well worth reading for fans of Air Tight Garage meets El topo!
