I have seen Colin on stage several times but never read one of his books until now. Instead of finding the usual personal experience type of writing I found an amazing handbook full of practical, down-to-earth advice about handling bereavement written by a man who has phenomenal compassion. The book is easy to read, it isn't heavy handed or all doom and gloom, and I didn't find that it focussed me on the painful memories. Instead it takes the reader on a journey towards healing and emotional restoration. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to someone struggling to overcome grief.

Whilst well-intentioned, I found the general advice to those that have experienced bereavement is 'get over it and move on'. In theory, yes, we have to move on with our lives, but the book would have served a better purpose if Colin gave more helpful advice on HOW to achieve this. The book made me feel guilty for mourning my beloved husband who passed away just over 4 months ago.

If you have recently lost a loved one or are still grieving over a past lost than this is the book for you. Colin puts across the message in such a way that it will leave you feeling at peace and in the comfortable thought that your loved ones are not gone forever but are just on the other side of the veil, still a part of your lives.

I actually am proud to say that I am privileged to know this man having taken care of him several times when he was a child and a friend of my sons He is the most genuine person you will ever meet. His books are so inspirational and to witness him at work is incredible he has brought comfort to so many people and assurance that no one ever dies, we all pass to another plane of existence. Those we love who are no longer with us we learn from Colin are always near. The content of his books will stay with you long after you read the last page.

I bought this book having read Colins previous ones and seeing him perform live. This was of particular interest to me as I lost my 6 year old Son 20 months ago and I guess I am looking for ways to heal. I will say that this book is ideal for anyone who has lost someone they love, it gives useful, helpful tips on how to carry on with life and heal your own life but I will also say that it is obvious that Colin has not lost a child as I found some of the things he suggested were things a bereaved parent would not be able to do and it made me quite angry. However, well worth a read, maybe not initially after bereavement but when you are ready to live again rather than just exist.

I'm a working Psychic Medium but I'm also a plain old human being with questions and Colin's "The Message" helped me come to terms not only with my gift but with my own grieving process. There were phrases in it that really struck home like "sidestep the circumstances". Normally I can read a book in a day but this one slowed me down in time to think and assimilate. Thank you Colin.

I watched Colin perform at London's O2 arena, absolutely brilliant in front of a twenty thousand audience he asked the question "I'm getting a name beginning with C on the left here, yes you, no not you, the chap in the paisley pyjamas eating a pork pie" amazing ! I was the lucky recipient (to pick me out of about five thousand raised hands I didn't even have my hand up I was just scratching me head ) " Do you know anyone who's name begins with C ?" I replied "Is it uncle Charlie ?" "Probably" he replied {how perceptive he is} I was asked " Did your uncle have a face" yes I replied "And did he wear trousers" sometimes I replied, it was uncanny he pinned down uncle Charlie to a tee, he then asked me " do you live in a place with a kettle in the kitchen ? " I just couldn't believe what I was hearing, anyway apparently uncle Charlie died because he had stopped breathing and uncle Charlie apologised for something that only I would know about { less said about that the better } but he asked Colin to tell me that he's very happy and that he bumped into Betty (and old flame) and he's been getting his leg over again.
