Product Description

Review

"This book from 'The Bible Speaks Today' series brought me to a deeper understanding of grace. Stott's verse-by-verse explanation modeled biblical teaching for me. He gave a clear dissection of Scripture. Personally, this book helped me trust the grace of God."--Max Lucado, Christian Retailing, September 2012

An amazingly well-written and well-referenced book with logical structure and thought-process, and explanations which show thoughtful consideration to the message Paul writes in Romans. The writing is also easy to read and understand and it has certainly improved and enhanced my knowledge and understanding of this amazing Bible section. Highly recommended.

This is a serious scholarly book but again easy to follow, excellent for the theology students of my (lower) calibre and probably excellent for people who are doing much more studying than I have time for

This book is a long one!
Very "in depth" explanation of Romans - rather academic, which I feel is a pity.
Rather gives the impression that one needs to be a theology graduate in order to understand the Christian message.
There are some good points in it and it has been helpful to read it as I've studied Romans but the Christian message is for everyone no matter what their intellect and this book makes it feel rather exclusive!

As expected John Stott's commentary lives up to expectations and is thoroughly to be recommended. His grasp of the material is second to none.
