Toby Kincaid has been the junior librarian for Sandy Lake Library for a couple years now. He has a boyfriend, who, i wanted to shout at and smack upside his head he was a idiot, and treated Toby like his own personal cash machine!! Toby comes to his senses and ends this one way relationship and puts his attentions somewhere infinitely more worthy. Toby is and has a kind and caring soul and when Mr. Miggles needs his help, Toby does not hesitate to step in and stand up for what is right and just. Giving us all the feels of a pure heart.
Sean Miggles is the Head Librarian he is a quite man and seems to have a damaged spirit. But he's got so much love inside him, and he quietly just makes the world a better place, so even though he appears a bit formal, you know he's just a big softie. There are events from his past that come to light along with a cruel dispicable allegation which will break your heart, this leaves him doubting himself if he can go through such an emotional time again and stand up for himself, but he's not as broken as he thinks and just needed the right person to stand and fight beside him, His person, Toby.
This truly was a beautiful Christmas read with great characters. It was about fighting for whats right, about a community coming together to stand against whats wrong. I would highly recommend both Author and book!! This really was a fantastic feel good Christmas Read. So grab yourself a warm drink and settle down and be prepared to fall in love with Merry Christmas, Mr. Miggles
No one realises just how important the head librarian, Mr Miggles is until things go wrong.
Toby is the junior librarian, saddled with a good for nothing boyfriend who uses him like a cash machine, he spends his days dreaming of a strong, man like Mr Miggles.
Ok so it's actually Mr Miggles in his dreams!!!
The normally quiet library is thrown into turmoil when Mr Miggles is arrested.
It's only then that everyone realises exactly what Sean Miggles means to the town.
The Christmas raffle, the books that appear from nowhere and the help he gives the residents.
And Toby of course, he begins to see exactly what Sean means to him.
In the true spirit of Christmas the community comes together to help.
This is a beautiful book with everything a Christmas story should have, the romance, the love, the joy and wonder of the season.
At times I felt like I was in the library with them all.
It's a hard tale to review, sorry, as if I went into any detail, I'd Spoiler it. Let's say that it's a tale suited to the season of goodwill, with the innate goodness that's present in mankind making itself shown, with a bit of a stiff relationship (no pun intended) that turns into a lasting romance, with community spirit, human decency and good feels. It ends in the leads living their HEA, a year after the events that brought them together, and it had more than a hint of realism.
All in all, an enjoyable read.

Toby is the junior librarian and loves his job. At the start of the story he has a horrible boyfriend and an ever-growing curiousity about his boss, the head librarian Mr Miggles. The older man is quiet, reserved, keeps himself to himself and Toby feels there's always a sadness about him.
When Mr Miggles is wrongly arrested not only Toby but the whole town comes to realise just how much they miss him, and how much he quietly does behind the scenes for everyone.
This was a lovely story, there was a real small town community feel to it, with lots of interesting secondary characters. I loved the slow burn on the romance side, and the relationship development was sweet and believable. Both were well-developed characters; it was nice to see Toby growing and finding the strength to stand up for both himself and people he cared about, while Sean had to learn to loosen up a bit and let people in again. They were a great couple who really complemented each other well.
Overall, really enjoyable festive read. Will definitely be looking for more from this author.
