As soon as you are reading some spanish text it's there, no changing or selecting needed, the normal dictionary
comes back when english text is being read. It's very good.
I just don't get this -- an electronic dictionary doesn't need to worry about weight or size like a paper one does. There's no excuse for having such poor coverage of the language.
The Collins dictionary is imperfect (it's also missing definitions for some basic vocab), but it's a lot better than this. The other dictionary by Lucas Nicolato is also best avoided (grammatical gender is unspecified; finding out the definition of a conjugated verb is a chore).
But, having lost my original kindle and buying another one I find that it is no longer possible to use this dictionary as a spanish dictionary. Although it is labelled as spanish language, the kindle thinks it is english and only allows it to be selected as a dictionary for english which is pointless. I called amazon help desk but they couldn't help, so now this really useful feature for foreign language learners has been dropped.
The advert on this dictionary should be changed as it is entirely misleading when it says that this can be installed as a spanish dictionary, because it cant. Bring back the old settings of a single primary dictionary!
As the default dictionary to use when reading Spanish books - cant select as default dictionary as they advertise at least on android. So useless waste of money for me.

Useful but limited. Misses a lot of words especially verbs with complicated tenses. But certainly makes reading Spanish a lot easier.Published on 10 July 2013 by P.J.Brooke
