When looking image used for the sole of the foot, it looks super narrow. Originally I thought the picture was squashed, but no no, the sole is really narrow which is just amazing. Such a perfect fit.
I actually pre-orded these of Amazon, and got them for £35 inc free delivery. Right time at the right place. I would pay £50 - 60 for these if I knew they were going to fit me this good. They are light, and well make. I don't see any issues as of yet with things that might break. The rim around the front of the shoe is very flush against the rest of the shoe, so I don't see that getting ripped off.
The lace ends inward, and not outward. this is a bit bizar.. however, Im not bothered about it.
I've accidentally been in the sea with them down here in Brighton. They aren't THAT water proof! :P but since they are like a glove to my foot, my feet didn't freeze and still had a good night out.
ONE MAJOR CONDITION HOWEVER! They are beige! That ain't gunna last long. oh well. GO MERRELL'S!
What would I want to be improve on? I think its got a tiny bit of leather like material on it. Im a vegan, so that wasn't that nice to see. And I would make sure who ever made them was paid a helpful salary. :)
Merrell Rant are really, really, narrow shoes.
You may be thinking...my Intercepts took a bit of breaking in but they were fine after a while...but so did I and they did, but these wont.
These are very narrow shoes indeed.
I am an 8 in every pair of Merrells I have bought. I ordered an 8 in Merrell Rant, but couldn't fit my feet in them.
I sent them back in favour of an 8.5, but I am still not happy with the half-size up. Again, too narrow, and now they're feeling a bit long.
If I order a 9 they'll probably be the right width, but will feel like clown shoes on me.
So, if you're reading this and have long thin feet rather than my fashionable short fat ones, crack on, buy them, you'll love them. They look like they'll last, they're good looking daps and have a comfy sole - as you'd expect.
They're so nice, in fact, that I'm still considering keeping these in the hope that they wont hurt my feet anymore...but common sense will-out and the 8.5's will be going back too.
I can't be bothered with returning them though and am completely happy with the shoe in general, I just tie them a little tighter and make it work ;D
The front arches are majorly too slim and squeeze the top of your feet so that you will be in agony, i cant return as i thought they would wear in, but their absolutely shockingly painful as soon as the trainer starts to bend with the foot, unless u have really flat feet, perfectly horizontal id stay away.
I don't like the 'flash' high end trainers, the branding on these is subtle with the build quality and clean uncluttered lines instilling confidence at a fraction of the cost.
The trainer design and material soon takes on the form of ones natural foot shape (I have broad feet). In my experience other trainers try to hold their shape expecting the wearers foot to mould into it!
Those unfortunate enough to experience smelly trainers, the built-in deoderant system works effectively, so no need to buy insoles to counter the problem.
Issues if any, the laces are wearing now, but that's down to my heavy use. Cheaper to replace than the new trainers, so its far from a grumble.
However, the rear of the insole of the shoe is quite narrow and curves up slighly on either side making them quite uncomfortable after long periods of wear. The insole doesnt help and should be flatter at the rear right across the shoe. I am currently looking for an insole that can sort this out. Merrell need to look into this as it appears to have have been reported before.
Both fit well and are comfortable but the blue ones are not wearing very well at all. They are coming un-stitched around the top bit wear your foot goes in. That said, the black pair are perfect.
I'd like to think that I've just got a duff pair in the blue ones as they definitely don't meet the usual high standard from Merrell. Having said that, I have n't tried to send them back, I just trimmed a few bit of loose thread to tidy them up.

I have size 10 feet (verging on a 9.5 in some shoes), bought these in a size 10. Fit perfectly. Great colours, soft soles, very comfortable and well built. Read morePublished 21 hours ago by Marty
Lovely shoes, slightly small for my wide 8's. Thin socks and loose laces accordance tho 😊Published 5 days ago by lyndon kelly
Awful blisters- far too narrow and (normally this doesn't happen) they stink to high heaven. There is no way that the sizing is accurate. Read morePublished 6 days ago by jim
