This series is just great fun. I like the performances of great actors like Anthony Head, Richard Wilson and do not forget, the incredible Emilia Fox. Relatively new actors like Colin Morgan and Bradley James also do a very good job.
Dot not expect the classic Arthur and Merlin tales, but all kinds of classic Arthur/Merlin elements do pop up during the series. Often when that hapens I say out loud 'oh, that's how they work it in, nicely done'.
This series is original, it is sometimes extremely funny, sometimes dramatic and almost always entertaining.
And I love the character of Gawain, I hope he has a decent part in series four, I cannot wait!

The Merlin series carries on getting better as the series progresses. It is darker and therefore more enjoyable, but retains the humour which makes it so endearing. Colin Morgan's self effacing portrayal of Merlin deserves more credit than he receives, and Richard Wilson is as good as you expect him to be. The next series promises to be even better.

The third series of this magical show opens with a brilliant episode, more magic, humour, action and plot twists come our way. Again the plot, acting, cgi are all done fantastically well, with some great episodes in the series so far. But i can't help thinking that the writers are running out of ideas, one or two of the episodes are becoming a bit weak on dialogue and plot. Particularily the episode entitled 'gwaine' which seemed slightly boring and hardly necessary, apart from that stinker of an episode this series looks to be promising.
