I have read this book numerous times. Is it possible??? As with all of Mark Frankland's books, an absolute page turner. Characters, reflecting real life, none are perfect, all have their varying degrees of good and bad, and most importantly, interesting. Mere Anarchy deals with the still very current issue of countries running out of money and what could happen in the UK if this happens. As a lifetime tax payer, I want to cheer reading this book, although I suspect this is not the reaction the author is looking for. Get ready for some twists and turns. I have already recommended this book to all my friends and now highly recommend to you.

In "Mere Anarchy", Mark Frankland crafts a socially-aware believable thriller set in a very pertinent dystopian Great Britain. His style is that of the "man in the street". It's not highbrow literature, but it is compulsively readable. And it is very worth reading. I enjoyed it immensely.

I found this book terrifying - mainly cos i can see it happening! The writing is good, character development is better in some areas than in others, but really - the book captured me because of the subject matter. Well worth a read.

Although don't read it just before bedtime!!!

This is truly a wonderful book, I couldn't stop reading and I will think about it for a long time to come. It only saddens me that such a good writer would fail to proofread their book for typos which increased in frequency as the book progressed.

Again Mark has hit the nail on the head. His feelings and awareness of current affairs and the effects they have on ordinary citizens and those whithout a voice are extremely vivid. All this and a spanking good read is money well spent.
