The Menu Water Jug is elegantly tall, slim and sophisticated. The slender, waist-like shape provides a solid grip, while the ingenious lid comes with a mechanism that automatically opens when you pour, ensuring ice cubes, slices of lemon and mint leaves don't escape. This jug can hold 1.3 litres of water.

However the greatest drawback is that the working of the dispenser is uneven. Sometimes you will be rewarded with only a trickle and so, unless you want to wait an embarrassingly long time to fill your glass, you need to turn the decanter in your hands (again not easy for anyone with smaller hands, anyone who has difficulty holding a weight like this in suspension whilst being polite, and where there is limited room at the table). Potentially disastrously, sometimes when you turn the decanter the dispenser opens up with a rush and a veritable flood of water comes out - and it's this that makes the decanter a real failure.
I use this decanter for water while I'm working at my desk. Having long fingers and being fairly strong I can lift the decanter with one hand, even when it's full, but when my hands are cold it's not always an unfraught manoeuvre. And because of the uneven working of the dispenser part in the lid I've had some near disasters with keyboard, netbook and scanner.
I wouldn't buy this decanter again, elegant as it is.
Fits easily into the door slot of a standard fridge / freezer. Suggest chilling the carafe before pouring white wine into to keep the wine cooler for longer.
Might not fit into a door of a waist height fridge though.
Easily cleaned though need some space to let it drip dry.
It is an elegant glass carafe with an efficient pouring stopper.
Filled with water and stored in the fridge you then have a very tasteful "bottle" to put on the table.
It has received a lot of admiration and we have given one as a gift.
The price is quite high but is justified as you are getting a fine piece of tableware.
