Product Description

The Mentalist stars Emmy®, Golden Globe and SAG Award nominee Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for using his razor sharp skills of observation and psychological manipulation to solve serious crimes. Within the Bureau, Jane is notorious for his blatant lack of protocol and his semi-celebrity past as a psychic medium, whose paranormal abilities he now admits he feigned. No-nonsense CBI senior agent Teresa Lisbon was initially reluctant to accept Jane into her unit; however, though she occasionally reprimands him for his theatrics and lack of boundaries, she acknowledges Jane's usefulness and finds him intriguing. Lisbon's team includes agents Kimball Cho, who serves as the lead interrogator and possesses a finely honed wit; Wayne Rigsby, the team's resident fire and explosives expert; and relative newcomer Grace Van Pelt, the optimist who is often at odds with Jane's more jaded views. Together, the CBI team agrees that Jane is a loose cannon but can't help but admire his charm and knack for clearing cases

I enjoy The Mentalist and have fun trying to beat Patrick Jane to finding the bad guy. I don't usually get it until it is explained. I don't think the series has lost anything as time goes on. This series is as good as the first ones, perhaps even better as all the characters have developed.
I love the extras about real mentalists who work their tricks on the cast.

Series 5 better than ever - building the tension and keeping us guessing. Simon Baker is HOT!! and the rest of the cast are good too, especially Tim Kang - his character Cho is so deadpan it's not true!! Hope this runs forever!!

Series 5 is just as interesting and funny as the previous series. All our favourite characters are there and despite Patrick's emotional frailities the episodes keep producing. Love Cho's one liners and dead pan delivery.

Originally seen on TV this was a 'must have'. Simon Baker's mentalist, Patrick Jane is truely convincing. No matter how often he tells people there is no such thing as a psychic one is left wondering if perhaps he really is. As in the other five series, the CBI team is led by Lisbon. She and her fellow detectives with Patrick's help close cases. In these episodes one sees the growing effect of the psychopathic killer Red John especially on Jane, and the team as their struggle continues to outwit and capture him. There are other cases for them to solve, obviously, but the Red John threat was and is always there in this viewers mind.

Bought this along with an angel dream-catcher for my mum's birthday.

She is a huge fan of this TV show and I have bought other seasons of this series for her previously for her.

Reasonably priced for a full season. It arrived on time (as stated on the invoice-predicted date). Came in an Amazon box which meant it fit straight in our mail box (great, no signing).

My mum was over the moon when she opened this item up for her birthday.

Well recommended, I tend to buy all our DVD's on Amazon rather than hitting the shops/supermarkets. They have the better prices, selection and even a great range for those with Blu-ray DVD players.

The mentalist series in my opinion is infectious .
We love it , janes plans to capture are always injenious mentally and keeps you questioning you're own observations and answer the rest of the team individually have their own persona which always adds up to success.

I'd recommend this to everyone who relays own a mature sense of adventure without the blood and gore of most other series out there!

I am a big fan of the mentalist series since I brought season 1&2 together and watched it in a weekend marathon. I do have to agree in part with some who say that the Red John storyline has been dragged on a bit. However the dribs and drabs of information about this elusive character and reading some of the mad theories on the web is hilarious and in fact adds to the drawn out aspect of the show. Season 5 of the mentalist isn't a shining gem in the series but at times has all the right elements that drew me in in the first place. Don't expect to have to many answers but a whole lot more questions and you'll enjoy it enough to want to continue with the series. The packaging is as good as it always is, slim and constructed well. Producers suggest that they have ramped up the Red John episodes for season 6, and key episodes in this series will lead into a theme in the next series.
