I now have my own copy and just purchased one for my athletic nephew. I wish I would've discovered something like this 35 years earlier.
I will admit this book is showing its age by the now-retired athletes it showcases; it should be updated.
Titles such as these, similar to any self-improvement or training guide, have to present "new" or different-enough ways to peddle the same core items needed for success; opinions and results with any one method will vary with the individual. I can say The Mental Edge gave its sports-psychology techniques in a way that worked for me. I hope they might do so for you.
Does take a little work and effort on your part but the efforts are well worth it. I play pocket billiards on a pro level and used this book to help me keep my focus in many tournaments , There are many options to choose for mental toughness and this is one of the best I've read
