Whitney is the kind of girl who I think we can all identify with, there are bits of us in her which makes this a fab read.
Perfect for a holiday read, Felicia has a new fan in me <3
Fast paced I was so routing for these two.
A rollercoaster emotions read and I loved it.
Finished abruptly though. Disappointed by that I love a healthy and seeing something through to the very end.

Whitney and Jon, guitarist in Garrett’s band, met after his concert. They had an incredible night of conversation and sharing. It was the best night of either’s life. But Whitney was too scared to let things develop between them. She used her friendship with Alexis and Garrett to keep Jon just as a friend, not wanting to make things awkward with the growing McKenna family. When she admits to Jon a year later she was attracted to him, he does whatever it takes to get her to accept him as more than friends.
Jon has his substance abuse addictions under control for the last two years. He wants a family and to settle down. He has never been attracted to anyone the way he has been to Whitney. He tries his hardest to get Whitney to see him as more than friends. He is sweet and giving to Whitney. He’s honest and tries to talk out issues with Whit. Sometimes, he messes up because he’s scared she’ll overreact, which is a possibility. Overall, Jon is a great guy and anyone would be lucky to have him.
In the story Tied Up In Heartstrings, I loved Whitney’s character. She took no crap from Alexis. She was strong and had her life together. She was selfless without being a doormat. She was confident and self assured. Apparently, that is not the case since she met Jon. She even said she must have traded places with Alexis because of everything she was feeling. Where was that strong woman that I loved? I’m not sure where she went because she was not in this story. She had no self confidence. Everything that happened was about her and no one else. I empathize that she had a rough childhood and felt she had to make her parents proud. But her behavior was not that of a 30 year old woman and would not have made anyone proud.
Overall, I did like the story. There’s a huge cliffhanger at the end of the book; however, there is no book hangover. I’m hoping there is another book in this series to have closure on Whitney and Jon’s story

Jon is the drummer in Garret Mckeena's band and he has dealt with the famous lifestyle like most hot stars do.. woman, drugs, alcohol.. until it took control of his life. Garret made Jon go to rehab and now that he is out and living substance free he wants more in his life.. maybe to start a family. When he met Whitney over a year ago when her and Alexis came to a concert his life was forever changed by this woman that he only spent days with. When she continues to ignore him over the year even though he has reached out multiple times he finds himself giving up hope for anything with her... until a family bbq will show him that maybe she does have feelings for him.. so he will pursue her again .. but will he be let down once again or will they find there happily ever after??
Whitney hasn't had the best upbringing so she stays close to the people who love her the most and she would never let them down.. so when Jon tries to pursue for almost a whole year she will push him away because if things endly badly then her friends would have to choose between them too and she would never have them make that decision... so she will push him away .. but for how long???
When tragedy strikes it will bring them together ... Will Whitney finally give Jon a chance or will other circumstances keep them apart?
Go pick up this series some parts are a little insta love for me.. but I will say I did enjoy this story and will continue to follow Felicia Lynn in her future endeavors.
Whitney is Alexis's best friend well one of many. Jon is a band mate/brother to Garrett. Jon and Whitney crossed paths a few times in the first book. They hit if off very well. Although we really didn't get to much of their background.
Mending Heartstrings gives you a glimpse into Jon's past, how he became the person he is today. His struggles are that of any addict. However he has control of it now with the help of his support group and his band family.
Whitney she comes from a broken home. You get a glimpse here and there of her past and how she was brought up. This made her push herself to become more. However she is lonely.
When they reunite things are really awkward. There is still that pull to one another. They can't keep their eyes off of each other. Each afraid to make the first step since not seeing each other in a very long time.
Jon wants to be with Whitney, Whitney wants to be with Jon. The struggle Whitney puts up for it not to happen tends to get on your nerves. Well mine anyway. Nothing was really holding her back. She wasn't seeing anyone else. He was free as well.
It took Jon almost loosing his life for Whitney to come around and realize she could of lost him. That is when things really picked up. But they she still fought her feelings.
I can tell you what though Felicia knows how to tear things apart, put them back together only to break them up again. I liked the book. The ended wasn't my favorite though. I guess I will have to wait till the next book to see what exactly happens with Jon and Whitney.

Jon a man that fights his demons on a daily basis to be a survivor is a struggled yet he has been managing it. The only thing he seems to fight his battle is the battle he has for Whitney. He has been wanting her for over a year and it seems that she gets further and further away.
Whitney has had her heart guarded for so long she acts in autopilot and her only reason is to not get hurt again. Struggling to defeat her demons she has kept away from the person she has managed to stay away for over a year, Jon.
After fighting and hiding their feelings this two struggling souls finally give each other a chance at love. But can this love be strong enough to survive or will they part and hurt for the rest of their lives?
Oh my Whitney and Jon's story will have you biting your nails, drinking lots of wine and don't forget some tissues. If you thought Garrett and Alexis love story was good, then you will want to read this one, because this is 10 times better.
I can't wait to see how their love story ends. I recommend for you to read this incredible book.
