A great story about second chance love. Xander and ivy were great characters and their connection jumped out of the book from the very first page. I found the story did start to lose a bit of momentum towards the end, but the final chapters redeemed any concerns that I might have had. I did feel though that ivy could have been a stronger character and her decisions at times seem stupid. Plus why the hell was she with Damon in the first place? Like I just didn't get that relationship. River and dahlias story remains my favourite of the connection series, but they are my favourite book couple ever, so they are high up on the pedestal. Overall a great addition to the series.

I gave Mended 4.5 Stars.

“Xander Wilde the boy may have broken my heart once upon a time. . .but Xander Wilde the man, is the one who mended it.”

If you loved River Wilde you will automatically fall head over heels for his older brother Xander! Mended is the tale of Xander and his lost love Ivy. Sweethearts since high school they made plans to set the world alight with their music but when tragedy struck Xander’s family, he made the heartbreaking decision to let Ivy go. A decision he would go on to regret every day thereafter.

“I let her go. How was I to know I’d be left feeling like half of me was missing after I did it?”

Xander is now the manager of his brother’s band and fate throws him and Ivy together again, being under a cramped tour bus doesn’t help matters. Xander wants to explain the past but Ivy has to focus on her broken heart and hatred for Xander as she knows she will succumb to his easy charm once again.

“I hold her face in my hands and just look at her-she takes my breath away. She always does . . .she always has and she always will.”

“I cradle my head in my hands and pray I can do this-that I can handle being around her every day and still do my job.”

Ivy is a strong character; she just put her trust in the wrong people. She has spent her life trying to do right by her family even though her mother uses her and Ivy’s sleaze of a fiancé Damon has ulterior motives for their relationship. But as hard as she tries, she can never forget her one true love.

“He got me, understood me, accepted me, guided me, showed me who I could be. Before I knew it, music and Xander Wilde-they became my world.

Karr has done it again!

Phew, here's me thinkin' we couldn't get a book any hotter than Connected with River in, any sexier than Dazed with the cousin, Jagger in....but oh no....Karr pulls it out of the bag, with a mind blowing one....Xander in Mended!

Mended is a true love story between two people who lost each other years ago, but fate managed to intervene and bring them back together? Forever or not? were not told that......

"If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they're yours."

In the beginning of Mended we get a peak into the past events of 18 year old Xander and his young love Ivy, these two share a bond like no other. Their chemistry is raw and unconditionally, but as always, there's something to rip them apart.

We then jump to 10 years on and Xander is trying to hold the band together after a backlash, Xander is all but tearing his hair out whilst trying to look after his family.

Of course, a HUGE spanner was thrown in the works when he comes face to face with a face from his past, a love that was never forgotten...Ivy Taylor.

We know in the instant that these two eyes meets, that sparks are flying, wounds are ripped open and memories are at the forefront.

When their relationship ended over 10 years ago, two hearts were broken. One angry and confused and the other full of regret.

There were several secrets that unfolded as the book went on and the reader learned about them piece by piece making it interesting. It was told in both Xander and Ivy's points of view, which I might add I fricking LOVE, that let us see right into their deep feelings, fears, and insecurities.

"At first glance, I just knew he was my prince charming, my happily-ever-after.

This is the third book in the Connections series (although Dazed is third in reading order, it is a novella so classed as #2.5) and this is Xander and Ivy’s story.

Xander Wilde has always carried a heavy load, feeling it’s his duty and responsibility to protect his family due to events that happened in the past that have had a deep resonating effect on him. It is through these feelings of responsibility that Xander let the love of his life, Ivy, go when they were at the brink of a new step in their young relationship.

Ivy has never forgotten Xander or the pain she went through after their break up. She now finds herself engaged to her controlling agent, Damon Wolf and thought she would be happy, even after bowing out of the limelight she had previously yearned to in. But then she sees Xander again at a rock showbiz party and events lead to her being part of the Wilde Ones tour, of which Xander is the manager.
Life on the road with the band and Xander, comes after her shock decision to call off her engagement to Damon but little knowing of the impact that would have on both her and Xander.

The name Damon Wolf has always brought up deeply painful memories for the Wilde family, especially Xander as it was the last name his father uttered before he committed suicide all those years ago.

Mended brings together all the unanswered questions that had been laid out to the reader in the series so far. What was the significance of Damon Wolf? Why did Xander let Ivy go? What family secrets were there to be revealed and what impact would this have on the family?
