"Informative (and often very funny) book is concerned with Gerald Durrell's life-long work to protect endangered species" --lifeoutloud.co.uk; January 2008 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
About the Author
Gerald Durrell lived in Corfu with his family as a boy and became fascinated by the island's natural history; these years are famously documented in My Family and Other Animals. His lifetime's work began with expeditions to collect endangered animals from all over the world and bring them to his breeding sanctuary. The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust now operates conservation programmes worldwide, carrying on Durrell's mission to save species from extinction. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Whilst for me this doesn't begin to compare with his earliest books it is still full of a wit and a wonderful attention to detail, made even better by the use of pen and ink illustrations, that readers of Durrell's books have come to expect.
