The year is chronicled in chapters from January through December. Each chapter begins with an overview of what was occurring during each specific four week period regarding current feuds or new arrivals to the territory. Following this information is virtually complete photos and text from each weekly program at the Memphis Coliseum.
The names travelling through the promotion include NWA champ Ric Flair, as well as AWA champ Nick Bockwinkel. The highlight for many being the Andy Kaufman - Jerry 'The King' Lawler feud. Kamala emerges amongst the up and comers, as well as names such as Terry Taylor and Jesse Barr.
Without slighting the mainstay competitors such as Lawler, Dutch Mantell and Bill 'Superstar' Dundee, their is often a repetitive feel to the match billings, but these shows drew thousands weekly to the Coliseum.
All in all, this book I'm sure at times could have been laborious piecing together, but none the less a true labour of love for it's author, Mark James.

On a related note, Mark James has announced on his website that he is collaborating with Jerry Jarrett to write Jarrett's autobiography, which should be released later this summer. I can guarantee that I will add that to my list of books that MUST be purchased. I would love to see James put together more of these historical books like this one.
