Product Description

Product Description

In his lengthy music career that stretches back to the late 1950s, Bobby Bare has been a pop singer, a folkie, a rocker and a country star. One of country music s raconteurs supreme, he is a superb song stylist and highly successful recording artist with an impressive 70 country hits between 1962 and 1986 with a dozen of them crossing over to the pop charts. Always one step ahead of the trends, he pioneered the idea of country concept albums years before Willie Nelson s Red Headed Stranger, he was at the forefront of the country-folk movement of the mid-1960s, and went on to become a major player in the 1970s Outlaw Movement and pushed the limits of modern country, especially in his collaborations with songwriter Shel Silverstein.
