About the Author

Author David Figlioli is a 20 year veteran actor of film, television, theatre and tv commercials. He has been making a living as an actor since 1995 and has been seen in over 50 film and television projects along with well over 100 tv commercials and countless theatrical productions around the U.S. This is David's first foray into writing and he brings a fresh unique perspective to the truth behind what it truly means to be an actor in Hollywood and to live the reality of what it takes to "run away and join the circus". Most of us won't take the leap, the first step. David leads us on his well written and personal journey to fullfill some of his dreams. He beautifully takes us to the Circus and we travel the world and walk the tightrope upsight down and rightsight up!
5.0 out of 5 stars Glimpse of the man who makes us smile! 24 May 2015

Whew! I almost felt like I'd gone through all that Figlioli had endured by the time I'd finished the book. The casual writing style, disclosing both sadness and humor, made me feel as though I know him personally. I applaud his disclosure of personal details in his unusual life without having to make the book one for "Adults only". He does a great job of proving that dreams aren't always easy to identify and that they do take a lot of work on our part to achieve. I really enjoy his acting so it's great to get a glimpse of the real man. The book is a great afternoon escape!

5.0 out of 5 stars An entertaining, insightful read. 20 May 2014

Very enjoyable insights into the "modern circus," from Office Space-style management structure to beautiful, artistic performances for international audiences. "Memoirs of a Circus Clown": The Reality of the Dream, is a great read for anyone in the entertainment industry. David Figlioli's narrative is engaging and humorous. It tells the tale of his transformation from working-but-disillusioned LA actor to Leading Clown in the modern circus, traveling the world and performing for millions. I particularly enjoyed the underlying theme that dreams can be realized, regardless of time or place in life. Nice work. Would recommend to a friend.

I truly liked the easy reading, the pictures, and the determination of how to conquer your fears that the author gives. How inspirational and informative for anyone interested in the entertainment world. The determination to follow through with a dream no matter how good or bad it becomes. "Memoirs of a Circus Clown" is well written and gives you just enough humor to make you want to read more.

I'm a sucker for entertainment industry biographies and this memoir does not disappoint. A unique story to tell, well written and ultimately inspirational.
If you have an interest in an insiders view of working in Hollywood and the reality of working in the modern day circus, you will enjoy this book.
